Well the engine is not what its the most important. Its the ECU your using. so if it has a Tach signal out i can get at least some features working lol.

@frsty_86 does the 2jz have a tach output? last i checked some 2jz have and others dont. Not sure why. If the wiring is based on the year or if its JDM or USDM.

Ah im sorry i dont know what i was thinking. I've been eyeing the Ray Hall build and wanted to do something similar but with a NA build. He's using a Vipec i88 ecu but I was going to hit up a shop here in texas that specializes in toyota engines to pick their brain about it.

Hmm well most aftermarket ecus have at least some sort of Tach out. Alot of them have canbus. And if they do i can do a simple can bus to can bus conversion using the same adapter. So its not as dependent on that. I would like to see more interesting builds!

I imagine most people swapping in the 2JZGTE will be using the JDM aristo engine and ECU. Beyond that info, I'm not sure of wiring. A quick google search seems to tell me there is a wire for tach signal on the Aristo ECU.

Thats true. And some rpm signals are coming from igniters. So it can pose a threat to electronics if its a high voltage tach driver.

Is anyone doing a swap local here to San Diego, CA? lol
