STI logo on Jackson Racing air-to-air intercooler

Today I finished painting the STI logo on the jackson racing Air-to-Air Intercooler. Looks preety neat if you ask me

First steps and the some images.

a) Found a great vector STI logo. As in here: https://cdn.worldvectorlogo.com/logos/sti.svg

b) Laser cut it. Not in mdf not in some wood spec, but using some platic, flexible material

c) Get a heat resistant red paint of your choice (I went with enamel + ceramic red - orange)

d) Clean and Prep your intercooler

e) Stick some paint tape arround the edges so that you do not end with paint marks elsewhere than intended

f) make sure your laser cut stencil holds just fine and does not wobble.

g) Make 4 to 5 layers of paint allowing 10 minutes between each of them in a ventilated area.

h) Wait arround two hours, remove stencil and tape and let dry for another 24 hrs before installing.

Pics:

Laser Cut

On the Intercooler:

Sprayed:

Final result:

That's all.

Have fun

Looks very dramatic. Love the red and white. Red mud flaps may detract from the wheels though. I recommend black, but that's just my opinion

i posted this in the hks FI thread but ill try here too as i think more people frequent this thread, ive been looing into boost for almost a year now, slowly compiling info, deciding on turbo vs sc and what kit, how much power etc, ive decided on the hks gt v3 as its one of the cheapest good options for me, im looking into the kit that comes with the tuning specifically the one with sku 12001-KT003A, does it come with an ecutek or other tuning system or just a downloadable tune I have to flash onto my own ecutek/similar? bear with the lack of knowledge lol but from all the research ive done, 250-275 whp is in the safe zone for essentially stock everything i cant get e85 or i wouldve planned for 300+, I plan on adding an oil cooler to keep the temps down, i have access to a shop and everything for the install but im just confused on the tuning aspect and i cant really find much info on that as everybody takes their car to a tuner which doesnt help me
