A few of us have been tracking this setup pretty rigorously without those braces. I haven't noticed any differences without it, but maybe other can chime in @sw20kosh @kanundrum @rb6freak. Someone is making some custom bars to fit over the intake pipe, but not sure if that project is still going forward.

Is it possibly due to the upgraded sway bar that comes with the kit? Does anyone have the PTuning headers with this turbo and live in an emissions state?

I doubt it... if anything, a stiffer sway bar would probably exaggerate any differences?

I use a GTSpec Tower bar, Ohlins Coilovers, 2.5" Nameless F/O Pipe and 2.5" Perrin exhaust, 17x8 rpf1, and 245/40/17 tires right now. The car is an absolute blast NA with the PTuning headers.

I was just hoping that there wouldn't be any change in the handling characteristics once the turbo goes on. The idea is to get close to how my old MR2 Turbos handled as well as their power levels.

Those strut tower bars don't do anything. You won't notice any difference. @mkivsoopra and I track our cars rigorously in the 86cup competition and there is no noticeable flex or hit to handling performance.

If you are gonna go with a supercharger get the JRSC not the kraftwerks. The JRSC is rigorously track tested and proven.

I did end up having a local fabricator make a set, however my measurements didn't take heat expansion into consideration, so once the engine is hot the intake pipe slightly taps the firewall strut brace when the engine rocks. I bought enough metal to make a few sets and the new measurements just add more height to the corner brackets. I do want to finish these, and I will. I have just been procrastinating.

I haven't noticed any lack of stiffness anywhere in the chassis without these, but I do want them on my car eventually.

Is anyone here running this turbo kit with the w/m injection? If so how’s your experience and what kind of numbers are you seeing ?
