The one I'm using changes the layout a bit. I think this is it: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...kins.ics&hl=en

You won't find anything drastic (I've looked), but that one is easier for me.

I'll try the baud rate, I have it setup on "auto", I'll change it to 38400 see if that helps. thanks

In case it gets recognized, you may need to set the USB baud rate to 38400 in your Torque settings for it to work properly. Some OBDLink devices are set to 115200, which is way too high for them to work properly withot losing connection or data to framing errors.
38400 rate didn't help, @xjohnx any suggestions?

Does anyone else constantly get the prompt asking if they want to accept Google location services? It never "keeps" the preference, even if you go into the settings menu and uncheck it.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm looking into purchasing this head unit but a few questions as it was semi-discussed in the thread.

To use the radio, I would need to get the Antenna Adapter ([ame="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004W34BBK/"]Amazon.com : Scosche LSAAB Antenna Adapter for 2002-Up Dual Lexus : Vehicle Wiring Harnesses : Car Electronics[/ame]).

To use the USB port at the bottom of the center console, I would need the Metra AXTOY([ame="http://www.amazon.com/Axxess-AX-TOYUSB-Adaptor-Retain-Vehicles/dp/B00EAYYQDO/"]Amazon.com : Axxess by Metra AX-TOYUSB USB Adaptor to Retain the OE USB in Select Toyota/Lexus Vehicles : Vehicle Audio Video Power Adapters : Car Electronics[/ame]).

To use the aux in port at the bottom of the center console, I would need the Metra Steering wheel control adapters, or create my own harness. Is there any other brand that can supply this harness/adapter rather than me having to buy a whole set a other harnesses/adapters just to use one.

Other than that(and the oem mic), everything else is plug n play right?

You have to connect the amp remote turn on wire from the HU to pin 9 of the 10 pin harness (I cut off the SWC wire from the HU's 10 pin harness, connected it to the AMP wire, and moved the pin to 9) and you have to Repin the aux wires on the swc harness you linked (I haven't done this one yet).

If you have a reverse cam, you have to wire the reverse wire to pin 2 of the 28 pin harness, and get power to your camera from another source than the stock HU (can apparently use the same pin 2 to do that as well according to one member in this thread). EDIT: Confirmed, I just hooked up my reverse cam. I tapped the BACK wire from the HU to pin 2 of the 28 pin harness (Orange/White) and I went ahead and tapped the power to my camera to the same lead so that it was only getting power when reverse was engaged. Works a treat.

That ought to make it all plug n play.

So I think I have one of the incorrect USB harnesses as well.

This is the one I've got:

Based on what folks are saying here, I should have the one with the grey hood and not the brown one. Right?

EDIT: Just found this thread on the Taco forums: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/aud...w-connect.html apparently the two harnesses out there are AX-TOYUSB and AX-TOYUSB2. The first one is what we want and that goes right into the head unit. The AX-TOYUSB-2 is designed to plug into a Toyota vehicle that has a Multimedia Interface ECU, which I don't think includes our cars.

So for anyone looking to purchase this USB harness - I guess you want to get AX-TOYUSB and not AX-TOYUSB2 - could those of you with the correct harness confirm this?

Its the same one recommended early on in the thread. Problem is that multiple vendors sell from that link, and at least one vendor is doing it wrong.

Yep, that's what I ordered. The vendor that shows up as the default, car audio distributors, apologized and asked me to mail it back to them and they'll send me the right one.

Silly thing is that the picture shown is the wrong one, the brown one is AX-TOYUSB2.
