I admit I'm not very good at gauging distances when approaching a parking-place curb stone. Having said that, this thing is low. When I first got it I put a curb alarm on the front which extended below the front lip not more than 1/2 inch, but it still would bottom just on dips at intersections and only lasted a couple weeks after being bashed too many times.

I'd like to put different suspension on it, but everything I've looked at lowers it even more.

So I have a scheme. I'm going to hard-wire an old wireless backup camera somewhere up front and mount the screen inside. If it works as I think, I should be able to see the curbs before I hear them. I'm told the display will be reversed left to right, but fore and aft is all that concerns me.

Then the exhaust tips get bent to h* & gone.

One of the spikes of a parking stop was sticking 1/4 inch up over the top.
Got my fascia stuck on it and ripped a chunk out the first week I had the car.

First world cussing and sulking ensued.

Or you could just stop a bit short. Our cars are not long enough that not pulling over the curbing will put you at risk of being hit.

Many cars have front cameras/360 cameras for exactly this purpose. They either get activated with a button or at slow speeds. You could tie yours to a button/toggle switch and only turn on when parking.

Exactly. Enjoy being one of the shortest car on the lot. Parking a foot too far from the curb will still keep you shorter than the F150 you're parked next to. If anything, parking all the way in might cause you to get hit by a speedy driver thinking the spot is empty (when parked between SUVs/trucks/vans).

As above, I always park centered front/back in a parking spot. I never pull all the way up to the curb.

I know the feeling. Having a lowered car is a pain to park and navigate on driveway ramps. I have to put special boards I made at the street curb just to get my car out of my garage and onto the street. Backing in has it's own pitfalls and I've grounded the rear on mine on concrete parking curbs with steel rebar sticking up out of them. I've just gotten used to stopping short on either the front or back. If the car is not where I think it should be I just lean inside, put it in neutral, release the park brake and push it into place. These cars are really light and easy to move : )

Backing in has worked for me, but it's time consuming and cumbersome. I found half my old wireless backup camera the other day and I'm looking for the other part. I think it will be pretty simple to mount the camera somewhere around the front. I know it's easy to think just don't pull in very far, but I don't have the discipline I guess to do that. I'm always afraid somebody's gonna knock the back of my car off.

Not to detract from your camera scheme but there are lifted suspension setups available. The TRD Rallye springs are one example that lift the car around 1/2”

Good to know. At 60,000 miles I'm assuming the stock suspension is pretty well shot and would like to put something better under there. Problem is everything I've looked at lowers the car rather than raises it. This thing is so low that it bottoms once in a while just going through the dips at intersections.
