I tried grounding the 4th to the trunk oem ground and still have problems when I have both parking and brake lights hooked up. If I have either one only then it works and I don't get the abs/traction light coming on. Any other ideas?

Not the problem.

I actually have my own completely (yes 100%) plug and play kit now, but the mods already don't like me for whatever reasons.

Sorry about reviving an old post but I had a similar issue where my Traction control and ABS lights would come on randomly. The car would even cut my throttle every so often. When the dash lights were on, I noticed that all my brake lights (except my 4th) were on as if I was pressing the pedal, so i assumed the problem was the brake actuator switch thingy. I have valenti tails and the phasetek 4th kit, which i was going to disconnect/switch to stock before i took it in to service but i noticed that as I jiggled phasetek taps, the brake lights function properly and the tcs and abs lights went away. I guess the taps included with the kit are kind of loose and shitty which was causing my issues with this.

I straight wired mine and still had the issue. I just ripped it out and threw it away.
