Holy shit. That’s pretty bad.

Even if there was a hole, he could just tape over it.

Porsche Boxster (base) vs MR2-Spyder. Both same year, MT & price. Which one would you choose & why?

MR2. Cheaper to work on and buy parts for.

Coworker saw me looking at local car ads for MRS. He told me, he himself was looking for one, but his wife want Boxster instead of MRS. I’m w you guys & my vote goes to MRS… but I can’t really see my coworker or his wife ever modding or even fix anything by themselves. So feels Boxster might be a better specs both performance & luxury than MRS.

Immabouttoflipmadesk... (Long rant ahead)

Edit: I feel less angry this morning. TLDR, people confidently told me they were going to do something, then stopped responding to status queries for months, then finally tell me they can't do it as a deadline I cannot change is fast approaching.

You do you. I vote MR2 only because I always wanted one. Porsche never did anything for me. The only time I ever got close to getting an MR2 was in 1989 and the insurance was more than the car. Now that I can afford to drive one I can't find one.

Me in November 2021: Hey IT environment lead, I need to migrate a bunch of stuff, can your environment support my needs? ... ... ...

Me in December: <asks again>. ... ... ...

Me in January: <asks one more time> Response(!): "Yes, we can definitely do that. Me: That's great! I'll go get it ready. Is X format acceptable? Response: Yes we can definitely do that, please open a ticket here [link]. I comply (after helping to troubleshoot their workflow for opening tickets)

Me later in January: Hey, it looks like the current environment support messed up and I can't get an export for an undisclosed period of time, and they won't let me do it myself. Them: OK, just let us know when you are ready.

Meanwhile the current environment unhelpdesk forgets about my ticket for 2 months...

March:. ( In the ticket I opened) Ok, I'm back, and I have the export! What now? ... ... ...

A week later: Hey guys, anyone know what's going on? (Short version, they changed the help desk repository and dropped everything)

A week later, I make 2 new tickets (per their new process), asking them to respond to the old ticket with one of them. Both were deleted within 2 days and no notification. No, not closed, deleted. I email the guy in charge with basically "wtf, what do I do here?", tickets appear again and one easy task is resolved (not the import). I answer some questions, and they say to stand by as there are a lot of import requests (because everyone else needs to transition environments too). It's now April.

May: I request a status update twice, 2 weeks apart. ... ... ...

June: I request a status update. Then I request a status update from the environment lead directly because I'm running up against a deadline for getting out of the old environment (which I've been using this whole time and need a new export anyway)

They finally respond: We are not accepting exports [of the type I need] for import because they mess up our environment.

W. T. F.

Dude. Not cool. I thought we settled this at work. Now I read about it here?
