Never been a huge fan of muscle vehicles. But it is almost heartbreaking to hear how ICEs are on their last years of production. It would be a good time to start investing in boom box companies that will be adding speakers to electric vehicles so they can sound like a charger/challenger.

High powered 4 door sedans are NOT muscle cars and never have been while Mustangs and Camaros are firmly in the Pony car category no matter how much power they make. Hell, the category was even named after the mustang! To some extent the Challenger is the only survivor and even that is closer to the Pony car definition (that us old guys know) now.

Muscle cars were mid to full size two door coupes with larger engines than the "standard" of the make/model. They were usually pretty bare bones versions of a normal production model. They were primarily designed for straight line only performance.
Pony cars are smaller, lighter compact (yes both the Mustang and Camaro were considered compacts at one point in time) to mid sized cars that were more often designed for more varied road type use. Some thing overlap of course and the line has really blurred since the 80s but they really were two separate categories. It is sort of like saying that a Miata, a Supra and a WRX are all "sportscars" because they loosely fit a description.

A great example! I'm from way after the pony/muscle car era, and they never got me excited (old or modern versions), and this analogy really makes it clearer.

I can't really say what the most recent production car is I would consider a muscle car.

They did get things right for a bit with the GNX but it was a bit late in the game.
