Tried that and it was louder with a Borla axle back. I have mid pipe, what axle back is relatively quiet.

I just installed 4 of these STI hangers. It took away almost 80% of the drone.

I have a kakimoto regu 06&r and it had a horrible drone starting from 2K rpm right up to 4+k. Now the drone is almost eliminated.

I noticed that the front pipe is bolted to the chassis unlike the rear muffler. Has anyone retrofitted a rubber hanger here as well?

Mmh, too high temperatures for rubber?

OT: @worldwidewait are you on catless headers?

Yes. On Tomei UELs. It would still drone on stock headers. These kakimotos are pretty notorious. Even with 2 helmholtz resonators at the back p

Finally got to the spectrometer readings. Haven't done a full comparison yet but you can certainly see a 1-2 DB reduction at the lowest frequency peaks. I'll leave it to you guys to interpret the results.

Butt dyno wise on the road there is definitely less lower frequencies removed. In my setup it is the low frequencies which you can hear, not the frequencies you can feel. My setup does not have much drone or any, so to speak.

Setup is stock decatted header + stock overpipe + stock front pipe + Fujitsubo Authorize R catback. Mic used is a Boya BY-M1 (better than the stock phone mic at the very least).

Order of images is in 2K RPM, 3k, 4k, 5k, idle.

A quote from a google link:

Quote:
The standard definition of a decibel indicates that it’s roughly the smallest amount of volume change that a person can subjectively perceive. That means variations of up to 1 dB ought to be pretty much imperceptible, while those at or beyond 1 dB are noticeable.

I installed a Fujitsubo Authorize R cat-back and the Subaru JDM hangers and noticed that there's a lot of movement with these hangers compared to stock. I can move the exhaust back and forth pretty easily and bump into the diff. For street driving this may be okay, but I'm curious if autocross may make it more noticeable.

Exactly. We pointed this topic some months ago. The original STi exhaust install spec was to change just the last 2 hangers. It would be easy for them to tell changing all of them, but I suppose they wanted to avoid the additional exhaust move.

Thanks for the reminder. I might opt to just do the rear 2 hangers. As soon as these mounts arrive

Same thing here. I changed all of the hangers and noticed how much more movement there is from the system. I'll swap some of the originals back in and see if it cuts down on the movement.

Sorry, I must've missed it earlier in the thread. Thanks for confirming.

Bit of a long shot but figured I'd ask since some of the guys here are from Toronto. Anyone wanna do a combined order, save on a bit of shipping for some hangers?
