I did indeed get an email from Shiv and my refund.
Things happen, but we're all taken care of now.

Unfortunately we've all seen this kinda thing before...

I remember when speedfactory started to get too big and customer service went down a year or two ago. These small business' gotta realize that once they get to a certain point where they cant do the work and run the business side of things efficiently AT THE SAME TIME, they have to suck it up, and hire additional employees. Simple business economics.

What matters is in the end hopefully everyone involved feels like the issue was resolved.

Not a defense of anybody but it's easy to see that sometimes it takes being overwhelmed to realize that you've transitioned from "hobbyist tool creator" to "business owner". At that point you're usually too concerned with catching up on those you're behind with to put the brakes on and do all the (arduous) steps it takes to actually form a business and hire people.

I'm not defending anyone, but the points you've raised are not always apparent until the damage has already been done. Hiring and training employees is a huge time sucker and that's where the trap begins.

As a business grows things like this can happen multiple times. Balancing the growth of a business is one of the hardest parts of owning and managing it.

It's far from simple...

Plus Juan. Also very interested in the 17 86 tune progress. At the risk of getting my butt kicked, I think you also be charging a fee for doing the work on the tunes.

I've asked him about this. He had me send him my stock tune, and hasn't said anything about charging me. Still waiting on it, but I figure it's because he's super busy. Hopefully soon *fingers crossed*

This kind of explains why the next gen of OFT tunes were being worked on and seemed close to release then we heard nothing. I hope everything is going great OK for Shiv and the OFT team.

Give him a call. Sent him my stock 2017 (AT not MT) tune. Didn't hear back for a few weeks. Wasn't being impatient, just wanted to see what was going on. Gave him a call and he sent me Stage 2 UEL right after we hung up.

Let me first say this.. I haven't had any problems with Shiv personally. My experience was great and he was great..

However threads like this are one (of the many) reasons I moved away from OFT to go to ECUTek.

This also isn't the first time or the first platform where people have complained about this exact thing. You can find threads from 10 years ago where people complained about Shiv being slow or just downright not responding until someone tags him somewhere in the public eye.

I don't think he's a bad guy, and obviously his product carries some weight, but he's had 10+ years to figure this out.

I wasn't speaking to this situation. The person I quoted was speaking in broad generalities.

FWIW, I've read enough of these threads that I won't be purchasing an OFT.

I would never buy an e-tune, i'd stick with OTS or dyno, which i have, love my OFT. My friend has problems with Shiv too though regarding his Abarth. I'm sure Shiv is a busy guy, but he should at least go through his e-mail once a week.

Shiv has been nothing but helpful to me for remote tuning, and any tuning related questions I have had.
