I started having issues on cold days in the winter after about 40k miles as well. I put up with for one season by just having a jump pack handy and charged in the car at all times just in case. Eventually I got tired of it though and just bought a new battery. Now it doesn't care what temperature it is (noticibly anyway). Battery life expectancy in a car is usually about 4 years anyway.

I have that happen every now and then. The steering wheel has a lockout solenoid for parking. Sometimes it wont release when the wheel has tension on it. Jiggle the wheel and I bet it fires right up.
