It says it is luzhou-flavor liquor. Can't read it on my post. It is made from fermented sorghum which is a grain. It is pretty terrible. My GM found it in the office beer fridge, the sales manager bought it in Beijing when he was there a few years ago.

This reminds me of the first time in college I had "jungle juice".

Still to this day have no idea what was in that particular mix.

And yes I regret it, lol.

Yeah that's where I'm at. I bought (well 2 if you count my Fiancée's house I live in now) house(s) 4mi from the airport I was instructing at and 9mi from my father's shop which was my full time job at the time. Of course now I drive 38min (with no traffic) to 50 minutes to my current airport base and 1.5-2hrs to the other airport home base. And I'm over the noise of the city (bass thumbing at 4am, playing gun shots or fireworks, fat people blasting their horn at their baby daddys because they too lazy to get of the car, etc...) So planning on closing the end of this month across town up on the mountain side. I got lucky on the property though and I'm just going to sell my (now rental) house and get a construction loan because buying is impossible right now in CT. Everyone from NYC and Boston is moving out and buying all the houses before you can even make an offer. I'm actually not really any further from downtown just in a different zoning. Currently it's single familes being replaced with multi-families and the other side town is single family and a full acre or bust. Even if I pull this off on the cheap though the taxes will be insane.

Guess it's time to experience hell and buy a plot of land! Better to have something built than trust someone else if you've that kind of a budget. Your family can fit in the car for a few months during construction, at least you won't need to walk far to let the dog out

Good news is, my wife's sis will let us stay in their house (cuz they have hella huge house) til we find the house. Even building a new house the area we want to build is looking at $600k~$750k. Even w that price, looking at 3~4 beds 2~3 bath and 2 car garage... about 2,200~3,000 sq/ft.

All the Californians are moving in, our home market is going through the roof! But interest rate have been nicely dropping.

Yea, those Californians are driving prices up here too. My house has gone up 43% in 18 months.

Housing is going to be interesting post covid. My oldest son is a data scientist at Cisco. He doesn't think he will ever be working at an office building again. Changes everything when a lot of the workforce can work for a company but live anywhere.

Yeah. Even where I currently am, the company-wide return to office date is June 30 (this is tentative as well, could be extended again), but my org specifically says we'll get to WFH as long as we need to feel comfortable, and there are surveys going around asking how we feel about post-COVID WFH 80% of the week or more, only coming in once or twice a week, etc.

Yeah... Currently I do 18hrs physically coming in and 22hrs WFH. Sadly, I work where WFH post covid is almost impossible, so 99.9% I'll be back 40hrs a wk physically back to work.

That might work for workplace that only hires +36hrs a wk, but we hire part time <20hrs a wk workers, plus a lot of part time staff work requires physically be here... so it'll def questionable how upstairs gonna do it.
