Went great. Car runs so nice with the dyno tune, smoother than stock. Throttle response is not as goofy as with the stock mapping.

It is WEIRD to have power at the ~3k mark. Wow. Also i thought i'd feel some parasitic drag at lower rpms with the supercharger but i didn't really sense it. I was even impressed at part throttle in 4th gear from 2500 rpm on up it just pulls effortlessly.

Installed the new bypass valve last weekend and all seems well again. I got two of the three nuts with a straight extension, the third required a swivel. Magnetic sockets helped avoid dropping nuts under the charger. Overall job was well under an hour and not too bad. I second the other member that mentioned the studs on the bypass were al dente pasta, it's hilarious how soft the metal is. Over torquing them would be easy and a bad day.

Went a few weeks without driving the car and I quickly forgot just how fast it is. Not a dragster by any means, but 330whp in this platform is no joke. Somehow my stock clutch is still holding up, although occasionally it'll slip a slight bit on the highway in 6th at low ish revs. Holds power just fine at the road course in 1st-5th.

Hi All,

I just installed this supercharger with my friend and I want to thank everyone in this thread as all the info has been invaluable. Question, I am getting check engine codes of P0171 and P0171P, the idle has been rough and when sometimes stopped at a red light the RPMs drop to 0 and the car stalls out and dies.

I have searched the thread and I am inclined to think its a bypass actuator failure? When my car is at a stop and idling, should I be hearing a big "hissing" sound from the actuator? When I squeeze the pipe that's connected to the actuator, the hissing completely stops. I don't know if this normal or if it's a sign of failure, please help & thanks in advance.

Same exact symptoms I just resolved by replacing my bypass, thats where I'd start.

The hissing sound and the hose pinching trick proves it's your bypass that needs to be replaced.

I purchased a kit that was used for one summer, hopefully there won't be any further issues with it.

Perhaps Edeldbrock can include a free case of bypass valves with each SC sale. : )

I can see why people fall into the rabbit hole with modding especially when hitting higher than stock power levels. You really have to plan ahead if you are zapping the throttle. I can get up to illegal speeds in a few blinks of the eye now. Traction isn't a problem but the stock brakes dont feel quite as strong as they used to

I always felt the stock brakes were fine on the street until I started doing logs for Zach. Cooked them when his request was lots of throttle deltas at various loads. They faded coming down from a fourth gear pull into triple digits, definitely a bit of an oh sh!t moment.

OK all, back with an update. I received my new bypass from Edelbrock and swapped it out for the old one. The car ran fine for one day and now I am getting DTC of P0171 and P1170 (Port injector fuel performance)

Does anyone have any advice on what I should be checking for now? Please and thank you.

You installed new orings for your port injectors I assume? Make sure the injectors are clocked correctly, their spray pattern is not uniform.
