Oil cooler/radiator combo - should be fine but I prefer a dedicated oil cooler
Catch can - nice to have
Thermostat - never heard about this one

I do autox maybe 8 times out of the year and stop light action street . Not a track build. Also it's not my daily. I Want 250/280 hp and 220 tq.

Oil Weight for c30 daily driving

Hey gang, oil change coming up, last time i put 0w20 in because thats what the cap says, but since ive learned that FI owners typically put in a little heavier weight. please, im not looking to start another oil thread, just a simple weight for DD, no track, in new england weather. should i go with a heavier weight, or stick with 0w20? i drive like a grandpa for what its worth. I drive my car to work, and i drive it to the gym, and i drive it to the grocery. i dont have an oil cooler. just a c30, zero other engine mods, running 91 octane. TIA

I run 0W-20 amsoil SS with an oil cooler per my tuners recommendation. C38, 93, standard pulley at the time. He said 5w-30 is a band aid for high oil temp situations if you're pushing it without an oil cooler. That being said if you don't drive it like you stole it like I do I'd say run a good 0w-20 oil and you'll be good.

Mike, is that the recommendation with an oil cooler (e.g., JR dual radiator/oil cooler) regardless of how hard one drives? Just curious since I've got about 10K miles on my JRSC C30 and have only ever used Mobile 1 full synthetic 0W20.

Yes, with the oil cooler, and yes, regardless of how you drive, as if you have a SC, you probably didn't get the SC to never use the extra power!

On another note: what should I be monitoring for health of the system, especially on track?


I have the JRSC oil cooler installed alongside it, but are there any other well known problems that happen on track?


I know I should be monitoring oil pressues, but not sure where to start.
