I purchased some Japanese Koshihikari Short Grain Rice. This stuff is supposedly the best grown in Japan. I am curious how it compares to the California Koshihikari Short Grain Rice I usually buy.

Great rice makes a difference. I learned that soft water also makes a difference when it comes to making sushi rice.

I am determined to make the best sushi in Idaho. Ok, it's a pretty low bar.

For those who were wondering, the California rice is way better.

Forgot about this last week when I was working in Florida.

Brisket, smoked sausage, and pulled pork. House made bun with apple slaw and spicy bbq sauce. I should have got 3.

So tired of the same old dinners. Looking for something new.

My chicken stuffed with smoked fish didn't go over too well.

My pictures of food always look terrible, but here it goes.

1. Caprese with Cherokee Purple tomatoes.

2. Chipotle steak skewers over pepper, onion, and bean salad.

Both were delicious.

Cherokee Purple is by far my favorite slicing tomato. Everything looks quite delicious.

I only take pictures of when I BBQ apparently. Few recent ones all done on the charcoal grill.

Eating pork tenderloin off the cutting board like an animal. Wife was out of town that night so I could go full caveman mode.

Chopped tenderloin steak in a lime marinade for fajitas.
No fancy fajita picture but Wife approved

Yeah they are very flavorful. I do actually prefer sweeter varieties on sandwiches and burgers, but the purples are perfect for a mainly tomato dish. Gotta pick and eat with the right timing though, a lot of ours went bad due to splitting and rotting really quickly.
