Yep, that's me.

Well, it is a drop-in filter, and it fits the 2017 MT cars, so that is good

Basically what Tcoat said. Simple install and inexpensive, and while you won't feel anything from it, it compliments any other bolt-ons and will last lots longer than a stock panel filter.

Just got the car dyno'd with the Blitz filter and the Perrin inlet tube a couple days ago. It made the same power as my FRS with the Perrin inlet tube and Perrin CAI. I'll be testing the Grimmspeed against the drop-in filter next week.

Thanks for the help, guys!

Guess I'll need to pick one up

You will see virtually no actual gains from one (they are all about the same no matter what marketing says) on it's own but gives a great jump off point. It was the very first thing I have done to every single car I ever modded for power (right back to my 55 Chev in 1973). Many cars require a whole new cold air intake to truly help but these were so well done from the start that just the drop in is a no brainer in my books.

Do it!

That's an interesting take, because I usually feel that the throttle is pretty sensitive (it's my first car though, so I'm not used to other cars being more sensitive). Sometimes I don't blip it enough, or a little too much even, but generally when I get it right it feels pretty natural.

Have you had your FRS for a while?
I actually just got mine a couple weeks ago. I had a two-year hiatus from driving stick, so just need to get the hang of it again. But what a thrill ride this car is.

Oh okay, that makes sense! Maybe it'd be worth adjusting the clutch pedal?

I know, right! I love it.

First mod done!

Got my Perrin license plate relocator installed today with the help of @JeremyR!

Waiting for another 3-4 months on the custom plate I ordered so the boring random one will have to do for now!

Good meeting ya man! The car looks great! Glad I got to finally see a MY17 PP up close.

We both definitely need car washes though..

Thanks dude, so does yours! I'm probably going to wash/detail mine again in a couple weeks. That's the only thing about white; it's very easy to tell when it's dirty .

So true.. After a few days it's already dirty again.. I'd wash it every week if I had the time..though that's probably not good for it. It definitely needs a good clay bar/waxing though.

Update!

First engine mod ordered and arriving this week: Red Perrin Inlet Tube (red to match the '17 manifold because why not make the engine bay pop at the same time).

Also took the car out on some mild twisties/turns in the hills yesterday:

Will post again when I have the inlet tube installed!

Also thinking about going clear for the side markers with the JDM clears. Considering other mods to do as well. Maybe a tower strut bar for the engine bay? Not sure how useful that'd be in daily driving.

The clear side markers were the first thing I did on my car. I'm hesitant to get the strut tower bar in my car, I drove a friend's BRZ with the bar and I couldn't feel a difference.

Let me know how the intake tube install goes! I'm considering getting the same one.

The clear markers will look much better on the CWP. The tower bars would have very, very little impact on a street car. They would look cool though if you ever open the hood for people.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.

Other than getting a new air filter (maybe Blitz?) I'm not sure what else to get, but maybe that's a good thing lol. This car is pretty much just a daily driver for now. Probably won't autox it for a while.

A drop in filter in the pre 17s made a nice difference but not sure what is even out there for the 17s yet. Since they increased the flow the stock one gives about what an aftermarket gave the old ones. Makes a cool noise though!

That's what I was wondering. There are only a couple right now. K&N doesn't seem to want to make one either.
