Just visited Neal at The Racer's Line in Concord for the 60k maintenance on my 2013 Scion FR-S 10 Series (AT). Setting up the appointment through email was super easy and convenient for my schedule.
I was greeted with a friendly face and a very clean and organized shop. Done very professionally, I was able to watch the whole process and I am very pleased with the quality of work. Not having seen most of it done before, I am much more confident in my ability to do the most basic stuff after watching Neal. Not touching those spark plugs though. He is great at explaining every step and didn't seem to mind me talking his ears off for hours. Neal is a well-inspired and passionate individual. I want to thank you again for the information, quality work, and just a good chat with a good guy. The few hours seemed like 20 minutes in the end. And he even took me for a quick test drive afterwards to make sure everything was 100%. Pricing was excellent, ended up being a much better option than getting the work done through the dealership where most of it was not covered. I purchased my car used at 51k miles. Not only will I be going back for everything, I've also got a rock-solid resource for everything ft86 moving forward. Will be recommending this shop to everyone I know that cares a lot about their car. Thanks again Neal! ![]() Last edited by Shynee; 09-10-2016 at 12:13 PM. |

Bunch of non-86's in the shop......! Not really, I've just gotten worse at taking pictures. For some reason when I started out, I thought I would be able to keep up with the photos. Now averaging 3-4 appointments a day, I'm a little busy, but can't complain!
Shop is going strong guys! Getting ready for Exclusive Track Days @ Thunderhill West this weekend, see you out there. e36 325is got a full bushing overhaul, plus all new brakes, and fluids, as well as a shifter rebuild and driveshaft flex disc. It's now ready for the track again. ![]() R8 v10 getting some love before Exclusive Track Day's next event. ![]() @derpz86 new daily! ![]() Tracy from Baka Dips got Velox splitter with race upgrade, just in time for On-Grids event ![]() And a really awful picture of Shiv from OpenFlash Performance's turbo FRS getting a new ACT Clutch and Velox Clutch Fork ![]() Last edited by The Racers Line; 09-28-2016 at 12:06 PM. |

Was at The Racer's Line today for a brake fluid flush and some new pads (Torque and StopTech). Watched racing videos, played with Neal's dog, got some great track day advice, checked out a new M235i, and then I heard a sound...
And that sound turned out to be Shiv's Ferrari 458 pulling in for an oil change. Damn, what a beautiful car. And he appears to be driving it hard. Bad ass. ![]() Shiv's dog Smokey looks on as the Ferrari goes up on the lift. ![]() Neal pulling the underbody panels on the 458. Another fun trip to The Racer's Line. Thanks, Neal! Another great trip to The Racers Line today. Got a catted JDL UEL header installed, and also a Perrin oil cooler. Going faster with more rumble, and staying cool while doing it.
Thanks to Neal, EJ, and Bo the wonder dog for another smooth upgrade. |

@BigFatFlip - fitment on the JDL header was perfect. Plenty of clearance on both sides. Needed to use one slightly shorter bolt on the cat to overpipe side. There was a little bit of coating overspray on the engine side mounting surfaces, but I'm just being ultra picky about aesthetics. Otherwise it's nicely welded and a pretty thing to look at. Haven't done much driving yet, but seemed to feel a bit more kick around 4000+ rpms. I have a Perrin catback and stock frontpipe. The header didn't make the car louder, it just sounds a bit different due to the UEL rumble. The exhaust actually sounds less bassy, and is reasonably quiet on the freeway at 75 mph. Seems like it might be slightly louder outside the car though. So far so good!
