yeah it's hard to say.

a lot of unknown also comes from the radio silence from Toyota USA, which has been hampered by the fact that a lot of public events were postponed in 2020 and into first half of 2021.

I'm betting the only difference will be a scowl in place of a smile. Possibly (but not probably) something different on the front fender.

With the big shows in Japan being cancelled for 2021 it really makes me glad I got to go to Osaka Auto Messe this past February.

Totally understandable why Toyota would want to wait and/or figure out a better way to still do an exciting unveiling.

We have a pretty good idea of what the front will look like based on the camo wrapped protos we've seen.

That looks great if that's it.

Maybe this time Toyota will use a different plastic or add/delete silver from some interior parts as they did before.

I suppose it's too much to hope for them to be frantically making changes to their fender and rocker panel designs...

Also, can't remember if I said that before, I have been hoping for a few months now lol.

Ha, sadly not probably..

I don't know _how_ but I'm sure the aftermarket will figure out a way to make things a bit smoother..

Just weird to get one and buy aftermarket sideskirts to cover the... built-in/molded sideskirts it already has??

Makes sense if Toyota is focusing on Japan showcases in the Olympic year. There have been rumors they would be showing off an EV with a solid state battery too. I'm actually way more excited for an EV if they have some breakthrough battery tech.

If this ends up being true to the 86 design, I might have to switch from getting a BRZ to an 86.

If there wasn't a Gen2 coming out, I would possibly have gone the BRZ route. When the final decision is made, it'll probably be the 86 since I just can't get into that front bumper on the BRZ.
