What instructions did you give to the dealer for preparation? It looks pretty shiny, did they clean it, but leave the protective film on it?

I originally told them not to wash it or take the plastic off. But once I was there I asked them to take the plastic off while I was dealing with the sales person in finance

I had a bad experience with my last BRZ and the paint was swirled badly from the dealer cleaning it constantly while it was sitting at the dealership

Since I'm 5 hours away from the dealer the good news is I'm almost already done with my break in period.

I thought trying to stay under 4000 RP m's would be torture but I did not even need to go there to feel the difference and have a ton of fun

It arrived yesterday at the dealer, one of the best birthday surprises I've ever had.

Tint, front PPF, Ceramic coating all later this coming week.

Im getting that done as soon as I have my STI aero put on. Where are you getting yours done? All the places that do that kind of thing around me seem sketchy.

I'm in CA, just saw you're in TX so I can't really help there but I had trouble finding places over here, too. Either no responses or beating around the bush for some reason. For the ceramic coating, I'm having a guy who did it as a side gig and now works full time do my BRZ. He did our previous vehicles and it was really solid work and lasted a long time but what you just mentioned waiting for your STI aero parts to come in... I'm about to postpone my ceramic coating because I have aero parts coming in, too. Don't know how I forgot about how that would not work on a fresh coat. Oops!

btw, i'm in that reddit thread, that's me haha... can't wait to see your STI parts on your car!

My dealer had said middle of this month. Yesterday he emailed me saying that the dates keep changing. But he thinks around 4/6. Fingers crossed. Ordered in the middle of November and got my VIN in the beginning of this month. Can't wait!

I do have mysubaru for our Forester. But when I try to add this VIN #, it says it can't find it. It's ok. I trust my salesperson haha.

How were you able to get a timeline that detailed? My VON was dated 11/30/21. Since a watched pot never boils, I stay away from the dealer except once to get the Ascent serviced. I got an email update from the salesman ten days ago with the VIN. The other day I was nearby and stopped to ask if they knew where the car was. Truth is I was really after a free cup of coffee; they have this machine that grinds the beans and makes better coffee and coffee drinks than Starbucks. Guilty. They had no idea where in the delivery chain was the car, only that there is one on the way. Back in November I was told the ETA would be March, so I figured close to April. When and where does the VIN get assigned to the VON? I’m only an hour away from the port of entry, so it’s just a quick truck ride.
