If you haven't seen it, Lars and the Real Girl is worth watching. It's about this type of relationship.

Is that any different than some guys here talk about their cars?

IFR certified but you wouldn't want to fly it in actual IFR conditions. Good for an IFR trainer. Other details at the link mentioned above.

It looks like you are living the dream. Be safe no matter what. Toys are just that but when they involve human safety you really need to do everything by the book. Wish I was doing the same these days. Enjoy.

At least in light aircraft the boxer is actually advantageous.
I visited the Pima Air & Space museum twice in the past few years and built model airplanes as a kid. So, I can appreciate that dream. Worth trading a few pinball machines for.

I started to watch the trailer, got about half way and had to stop. It occurred to me that this is the situation for some people but I found it too confronting to watch the trailer all the way through.
Which is strange because I really enjoyed the movie "Her".

Just read your linked post... VERY nice choice of airplane. I've got a PA28-140, about the same cruise speed as yours, but nowhere near the fuel-sipping consumption rate. Just added a Stratus ESG for adsb-out a few months ago (THAT was a job.....took my back a week or two to recover), and get my hands dirty doing most of the maintenance and repairs myself under the watchful eye of a skilled A&P. I'm not familiar with yours at all. Would love to move up a bit, maybe a Grumman Tiger or Cheetah, for the increased speed and a better panel (rather than sink buttloads of money into my Cherokee and lose it pretty much immediately because my plane will never really be worth much). I've got IFR capability now, but no GPS... so, as things are going, that "capability' is becoming slowly but steadily less...ummm.. capable. Probably just should have bit the bullet and put in a Garmin GNX375 instead of the Stratus... but $2200 and do it myself vs. $8000 or more installed... soo... well... Stratus.

Too bad we don't live closer to each other.. would love to check out your plane. Looks like a great bird, especially for your "mission."

Not surprised, it's a rare bird, only about 300 of them built, probably less than that flying now. The designer, Christopher Heintz, is big in the experimental world. He designs simple planes that fly well. He originally designed Avion Robins certified aircraft in Europe (I flew one if his designs there once when visiting England).

This one was his attempt to get into the training market, and was built in South Georgia. Unfortunately, it just never sold enough to maintain the business model. Aircraft are just too damn expensive for a "start up".

I've been thinking about getting something with a little more empty weight and a little more speed so we can use if for some Mom and DadHawk travel now that the kids are out of the house but right now I'm really happy with this one.

I enjoy my small collection of vintage Cox gas powered toy cars. Also have a few Choppers in a box somewhere.

Nice looking car - too bad your photography still sucks -

No, you can't blame the sun drenched back lighting and glare on the windshield on your camera -

So, has your hot tub arrived yet?

These days it's mostly DnD with a sighting of a fancy fountain pen;

Clicky Clacky math rocks and clicky clacky keyboards on WFH setup;

Honorable mention to guitar that's currently on display;

And bicycle back when it went outside more than once a year;

Not pictured; Kindle for book readin' and vidjo games + big tv which is boring to photograph.
