lol you weren't paying attention to those of us that were saying "no engine upgrades" because someone got all pissy about it. Learn to read sarcasm :P

I am trying to say that they are very focus in keeping the car of AE86 character which is light weight econo sports car. 200hp is adequate in their eye.
If you're only looking for a few more hp, why not do it yourself? you can get to 225-230 hp on these cars pretty easily with bolt-ons.

I did a full tear out and replace of my audio. The MY15 has 6 speakers, tweeters up on the dash (in the corners), front doors and rear seat (shity 3" ones in the walls). Would have loved to of installed some 6x9's in the rear parcel shelf, but there is no room so this talk of 8 speakers has me curious.

Also its been said (many times) that any new changes will be retrofit able into older models so I'm really interested in where they managed to cram the extra 2 speakers and what it would set me back for the conversion.

I'm hoping it does. Planning on getting a BRZ around summer time and if this Lapis Blue Pearl is confirmed for 2016 US models I'm definitely waiting for one. Otherwise 2015 WRB it is.

GBS is my favorite too, it sucks they discontinued it after 2013

The USDM BRZ/FRS has total 4 speaker (two big and two small) in the
dashboard. However, the JDM modal only has two 25mm tweeter (small one) in the dashboard.

GT、GTリミテッドが6スピーカーから8スピーカーに変更
インパネにミッドレンジスピーカー追加
リヤクォータースピーカーが65mmから86mmに変更

It looks like the 2016 model also make the rear speaker larger from 65mm to
86 mm.

Rear speakers are worthless anyway. 99% of music is recorded in stereo and is meant to have a stereo image with only a left and right channel in front of the listener. Most sound quality competition guys focus on front speakers only. Many do not use rear-fill at all.

Having extra speakers in the back is pointless. It's only for rear passengers, which will hardly ever be in the car, and just adds unnecessary weight to the vehicle.

I quite like how when using navigation, the system fades out the music at the front speakers before speaking, but leaves the music playing through the rear speakers in the background. Whoever did that programming gets kudos from me for not taking the lazy route and just having the audio fade out entirely.

I am an idiot

I am an idiot.

For waiting till the last model year of this body style to get the most bang for my buck. Dependability improved, hp increase/turbo perhaps?, upgrades. To also see the long term dependability of aftermarket parts and dynos. Do i like the looks etc of the newer(2018?) BRZ or do I hate it?

Examples off the top of my head:
2004-2007 Acura TL
2003-2008?- Infiniti G35
