I'm impressed with the mechanical changes and would be lying if I don't have a little buyer's remorse for buying a '19 BRZ last year.
Exterior and interior not too much though. |

Does the new 2.4L really have 13.5:1 compression? I'm trying to do a search and confirm it, but can't find much. If it really is that high, how is this usable everyday unless you put something barely below race-gas grade in there!?

I like the gauge display laid out in the shape of a boxer engine. The rear is pretty good looking. Especially from the side.
However the overall interiors looks too utilitarian and boxy. Makes me appreciate the previous gen interior. Just more character and call back to 2000gt The front looks too tall. With the conservative european or safer looking headlights and what almost looks like two grills in the front with the tall intakes on the sides the front reminds me if a viper rx8 and macan had a baby |

No fog lights on the limited trim cars, just brake ducts. Hmmm. If there is no option for fogs lights it's not a Subaru.

Got any info on if they beefed up the internals any? I know with the FA20, the rods were the weak link when it came to FI. Curious how this motor will handle a turbo or supercharger from the aftermarket.

Hopefully this sells. As much as I advocate for an environmental centric society, I also hate looking at minivans and Prius. Especially if millennial gen has fewer children that no longer require necessitate a human hauler.

The good: they kept the weight down! Even with the new safety tech they have to cram in.
The bad: was hoping for more powah baby! Was 240HP too much to ask for, Subaru? The ugly: that nose. I prefer the looks of gen 1, which was sharp and looked visually lower. Maybe the overall styling will grow on me. Maybe Toyota’s version will partially remedy my feelings about the front half of the car. I’ll still take it for a test drive when they eventually make it here, but I don’t feel compelled to trade in my new Z for one of these! |

The new 2.4 will probably demand premium, same as the current engine, so somewhat less of a challenge. |

Don't feel too bad. The first year model with have teething problems just like the 2013 did (and pretty much all cars for that matter). So, that's 2 years you would have been waiting to get an enjoyable driving experience without hassle. |

Yes, we need new sports cars. They’re an endangered species!

What I’m hoping is that when ICE vehicles are eventually phased out entirely, there will still be affordable sports cars, albeit electric or (maybe) hydrogen powered. Hopefully drivable coupes are not entirely eliminated in favour of autonomous, ugly ass 7 seat SUVs. |
