Hail is just ice cubes dropping from the sky.
And they can be sized anywhere between a small pebble to (what happened this year) some golf ball sized ones or larger.

Yes it can. Same city as above however it was not in the worst hit part.

The hood and roof are extremely soft.

Doubt it.
My SRT-4 got hit aug of 2011. I saw the storm coming and went and threw my car cover on, it was still bad enough to where my insurance company had to total the car. It pretty much looked like a big red golf ball when the storm was over.

Not really, but it might soften the blow of the hail...and possibly stop the small hail from causing dents. But its still a chunk of ice going terminal velocity and impacting a metal surface.

Also the Hood is made of aluminum, which is a softer metal and more susceptible to impact damage.

I would actually feel sorry for any Jag owners who had their cars sit outside during the hailstorm lol. Their car's are entirely made of aluminium.

No, it won't, not for this size hail. Clear Bra is a thin, elastic film that bends with the metal when hit. It would probably protect the car from paint chips (assuming the edges of the hail are rough), but the dents will still show.

Of course... it's hail... and judging by the pictures it did do damage. Also hail occurs when it's hot outside not usually during winter.

Best bet is a garage. Or underpass if you are out driving when it hits.

well obviously, but i'm assuming if hail is a major concern for him he probably can't park in a garage...
