Being wary of Big Brother tech in principle is one thing. Thinking that oneself is significant enough to matter is entirely another.

It's even weirder when you're a software engineer at one of these big tech companies and get the work email invites to dogfood (internally test) new features.

I can't say what but let's just say I got one the other day and was like why the heck is this really necessary??

They have never lived in isolation and have always found ways find each other and amplify bad ideas. There are some very large institutions that have been doing it for thousands of years.

I like what's going on this setting... We have a Twin "the sports of the modern age", Lego "the most popular toy in history", Millennium Falcon "the baddest ship in the galaxy" and finally a box full of idiots.. Who would have thought of putting all these together on a desk at work?

This thread reads like an echo chamber. This is not a criticism, merely an observation.
That is, a bunch of people with similar views on a subject stating their position.

Saying "science greater than belief" doesn't work; it is a line that gets thrown out in this flavour of echo chamber analogous to "vaccines cause autism" in anti-vaxxer chambers.

Except people who truly favor science will change their perspective to accept an anti vaxx if it is actually statistically likely.

I personally don't think there's anything wrong with religious belief, if that's what you're referring to.

IMO usually God is depicted as having given humanbeings freewill. So like, why would people choose to ignore that freewill and not use it to explore and learn about the world that God created and make decisions based on that? Seems like a monumental waste of freewill.
