Fluidampr pulley DSS Carbon Driveshaft
I know there are numerous threads sort of discussing this. But they are all mostly old, and filled with lots of people flaming it saying not worth it etc...
I am wondering if anyone has any before / after numbers/comparisons (not just opinions or “feels”) like 0-60, 0-100, 40-100, 1/4mile, dynos etc... or if anyone knows the math/physics of how it would apply theoretically. I am thinking about getting the dss carbon shaft, and or Fluidampr crank pulley and maybe offset the extra weight of the pulley with some raceseng water/alt pulleys. If anyone had first hand experience or any kind of data to quantify the benefits that would be awesome. I don’t care about bang for buck, is it worth it, or saving money for something else. Just wether or not it makes any benefit at all or maybe risk (if any) to benefit ratio. |

I can try to help from a technical perspective, but I've got no in-person experience with any of the modifications you are referring to.
If you compile weights and outer diameters of the parts you are changing (stock and aftermarket) here I can give you a decent estimate of straight line performance change based on weight/inertia sometime this weekend. The model isnt ready for prime time yet otherwise I'd just post that. Also that assumes you are relatively close to stock performance. If that's not the case, let me know and we can find a workaround. The model won't account for vibration, but it seems the design of the fluidampr is more focused on protection than performance. From what I can tell, the vibration energy is transferred to the silicon and lost as heat for the most part. |

Since grilling steaks came up I must add that pan frying a steak is a very unorthodox but can produce some great results.
I have almost stopped grilling and have been pan frying all my steaks lately. I watched a clip of that English cooking guy who swears a lot pan frying and after going pan, I'm hooked. Is that pansexual because I've heard that word thrown around recently? I think I'm pansexual and I don't care who knows. |
