I'd love to see the results. If it doesn't lose power then it's just making it run lean. I don't believe an ARC airbox has every made power in the history of the company.

I believe they do. :-)

Dyno chart posted (albeit not independent). It's clearly making power. It's not like other manufactures are making 20whp. Or that ARC are claiming it does.

I really don't understand the hatred. (Not from you, Dave) If you don't like it don't buy one. :-) There's plenty of others to choose from. I have owned numerous ARC parts and admire the quality. I also like the fact that they aren't mass produced. Cooler intake charge, smoother delivery and increased power on my Z33. Right from the data recorder. Testing done on track, where it matters to me.

I'll post results when I install this one. I'm not sure why anyone would want me to though... Lol people hate it just by looking at it.

Referring to the little box on the left of the intake.

Cool piece of technology designed to both heat the oil from a cold start and cool the oil once at optimal temperature. Honda's been doing this for over a decade thanks to v-tec.

Unless the block adapter has a thermostat in it then it also serves the purpose of making it take a REALLY LONG TIME to build oil pressure, which is horrible for the engine.

Water oil coolers suck. I wouldn't waste my time on one, and they've barely worked on Hondas too (I have them on some of mine).

Hey if it makes power without leaning the AFR, great! It would be the first time I've seen an ARC box make power on a NA car. I have seen them lose power quite often though.. more so than I've seen them break even I don't hate them myself. I'd love to see the AFR on their graph, and I'd love to see one on a tuned ECU keeping the AFR in the same spot as the OEM intake setup. With the hood down would be even better

How else does a bolt on part make any power? More airflow leans out the mixture. I cannot adjust fuel delivery yet.. One step at a time. I will check AFR when I can on the 86.

BTW, my hood was down when I data logged intake temps on my Z. Hard to drive around the circuit otherwise. :-) it made more power and had temps equal to or a few degrees above ambient. I believe that is good.

Installed the induction box today. I am happy with the results. I will share data when available. Peace.

Getting really tired of reading that the ARC Induction box is only for pretty looks, hard parking and sucking up hot air. So, I data logged via obdii and the results are as follows.

On the street, 35 mph, intake temps were 2-3 degrees above ambient. At highway speeds they were at ambient and BELOW
I'd say that's pretty good. ;-)

I will retest on the circuit throughout the year.

Nothing like vendors trying to sell AEM intakes by knocking ARC.. I've lost a lot of respect with sales tactics like this.

PS. I have been an owner if ARC parts for over eight years. This isn't my first experience with them. Nor am I simply defending an expensive purchase. That said, it doesn't make more power than any other intake. It's rare, beautiful, improved throttle response and I'm happy with it. Actually I hope nobody else buys them so it stays rare. .. I hate having stuff everyone else has .. :-)

Not part of Mackin. Mackin just imports them.

ARC is now known as ARC Brazing after going bankrupt

Igorot! I've been to Baguio. Do you wear the diaper? I was gifted one from friends there!

It's probably different for many products but the ARC intake for the S2000 was notoriously known to be worse then stock and had major heat bog
