Also not sure how I feel about the Alonso penalty. Are they just going to start penalizing the back markers too?

What total BULL SNOT! They say they didn’t take the crash into account but the only reason they looked into Alonso’s driving was because Russell crashed. Alonso had tried different things in that area over the weekend. Did everyone forget that he had an off in qualifying at that very same corner? His response as to how drivers have to change what they do to save fuel, tires, brakes etc. made perfect sense. And what about Albon’s crash? The same effing corner! So on the last lap of a race of course Alonso is going to try and get the best drive out while not putting himself in a position where he might crash.
Yes and what about all the back markers and the dumb ass moves some of them made?
Why aren’t the marshals and the stewards getting raked over the coals for not throwing and red flag and stopping all cars immediately? Didn’t they hear poor Russell SCREAMING; “Red flag! Red flag! Red flag! I’m in the middle of the track! Red flag! Red flag! Red! Red! Red! Red! Red!
“I’m in the middle! Red! F*cking hell!”
Talk about dangerous…

How come its always Sainz who wins when its not Max?
Is it not Perez job to do that...

Alonso gets punished for racing, “potentially dangerous” this is getting a bit too woke, smells like an appeal in the works.

George has been hanging around HAM enough to be squealing when things are not going his perfect way.

Ill give it to Ferrari, this time they pulled off a great race as a team.

Additional frustration:
Mike Krack (AM) says he will not appeal the decision on Alonso, Come on!

The first rule of fight club is it is the responsibility of the overtaking car to safely make the overtake. The second rule of fight club is……

It looked to me like Russell was a bit over focused on his line and got caught out by Alonso going slower than expected. Racing incident.

If I recall, pardon my terrible memory and lack of a source I don't recall where I read, but Mike said something along the lines of 'we gave them all the information we had and we cannot appeal as we do not have any new information'.

I agree it is nonsense to dish out that penalty.

Lando finally made it for a win,
Was expecting him to peel that band-aid off & show his bar scars as well...

Didn’t watch the race since I dropped my F1TV subscription. The highlights from Lando’s in car the last handful of laps were unreal. He was absolutely on the limit.

I just upgraded my 17 yr old PC just to join the IRacing series, after 2 months I stopped that subscription,
priorities was real F1 racing season not make believe although Max was doing both this weekend!
Retired and creative budgeting vs my real passions I keep the F1 TV its cheaper than the game...

Lot of RED in the grandstand today.
Quite a clean start not seen that for a while.
Yuki was surprisingly consistently good all weekend, But ALO had a weekend to forget.

There was a shot of the pit crew shoes from Ferrari & Another of the McLaren crew, Them Italians don’t wear socks.
Or are sporting some shorties as I do when in my full cycling dress-up, funny that they highlighted the differences.

Great shots of curb jumping!
All weekend long, I liky this old school circuit a lot.

The ease of Norris ,Charlie, Sainz, Ham passing Perez, its a moment when we see the Red Bulls domination is in doubt
and fading or was it a wounded car/tires? And Max having to work for that trophy.
Game on!

In other news I’m pretty pissed off I cannot attend the MTL open-house event again this year,
I had subscribed to the MTL GP newsletter a few months ago as there was no published news yet of that
Thursdays Open house event here... Great time to see the pits up close and free.

2 weeks ago they sent me the link for the Open house event to be raffled off,
this week they sent out tickets to the winners... I never got one.

I’m a looser and I don’t feel happy about it.

At least I still have my prime Fridays Sena curve seats to view the pits & the first corner practice to get over it.
Some pict of that that will be incoming!

About that parade Sunday...

For the first time in F1 history, the top 10 drivers at the Monaco Grand Prix started where they finished.

Stroll managed somehow to do the only passing in the race ...twice.

Monaco, its about the place, the racing is secondary...

Free things to do in Montreal : Roam Peel / Ste Catherine Streets , there are usually some nice cars on display, sidewalk bars and pretty spiffy restaurants terraces. ... and the car girls.

https://www.formulepeel.ca/en/

Then THE party street in town all year long has a special event over the weekend with lots of freebies given out & Music in the evening and pit stop games.

https://www.crescentgrandprix.com/

If you need some historic culture then get lost in Old Mo and the port...

For a view of downtown go up mount Royal to the Chalet or the hidden parking under Concordia bridge if its not bloked off (its the main entrance for the F1 islands..)

Im in the Senna curve on Friday with my Brother & a friend. If you need a guide we could arrange a meet-up or something, Lol...
Im retired I have lots of time like walking around the city.

Bring a Poncho or raincoat it really does not look pleasant all weekend no umbrellas allowed of course.

Hope you have a great time and Montreal is very much English so don't worry about any Language issues you may have!

Did you manage to find a Hotel downtown?

Any questions? PM me.

I love watching Formula One, on TV. I have zero interest in attending it in person since you basically can't see anything and, well drunken crowds with no real interest in the race, just the party.
