just put the entire garage underground.
it's easy to dig down, and then just build the house on top of it!

I could write a book just about the houses I know that were built by people who wanted a great work/play area first and living areas second.
Here's one about 40 minutes from me. I don't like it (or the price) but the owner had his priorities right. https://www.realtor.ca/real-estate/2...-road-colborne |

I think I could suffer the post modern design for that much shop. They should have made the big bay drive through.

i'm loving the lazyboy that's almost touching the island because there's not enough space/planning to fit all the furniture they wanted. perfect example of a house that was put together in boxes to tick off checkmarks. is realestate really that expensive in ontario? looks like a generous $500k house in my area.

Haven't touched the r/c stuff since about 2014 when I bucked down on getting the car and a house.
Nice to play with again, even if it's just rebuilding what I destroyed last time out

$10k, yes, any time i want. g-610b. i paid $35/ea for them.
i used to subscribe to stereophile, but it's way too high on itself for my taste. the demo's of $20k iterations tend to devolve into 'discussions' on the necessity of $1k+ vacuum-insulated cables, and voodoo engineered $250/ea wood blocks to lift and isolate the cable runs to the speakers from the amp away from floor vibrations. and god have mercy on your soul if you're not running anything less than a $4k preamp and $2k turn table on a $300 specifically 'engineered' wood platform. $20k+ builds tend to get lost somewhere into the realm of status symbols under the guise of signal purity. i push towards the low end to spite the high end builds.

Sounds like you've been in the hobby for a while and know what you like. To each his own.
I subscribe to Stereophile but their reviews are usually a little long-winded for me. It's still fun to page through the magazine I think. I write gear reviews as a fun hobby, you can check them out here if you'd like: https://theaudiobeatnik.com/author/drew/
