Last July, no 2 son traded his '18 Crosstrek in on a '22 Outback Wilderness. The selling dealer gave him more in trade than he paid for the Crosstrek 2 years ago. I flew up to Seattle in early Nov. and we drove it down home for the winter. Very nice car. I could live without the CVT and f'd up throttle response but with that engine the car can definitely get out of its own way - great ride - and quiet.

I’m looking at getting aftermarket wheels for my Highlander (already). I was looking at one wheel. I’m planning to keep stock tires & just replace the wheels. So put the spec into the wheel calculator

& see how much it pokes out. It claims tires will poke out 10mm & lip of the wheels will poke out 16mm.

So did quick string & measuring tape to check & I got the clearance:
Tires: 5/8” = 14mm
Wheels: 1” = 25mm

So 20x8.5+20 wheel w same tires will still give me 4mm for tires & 9mm for wheels under the fender… great! Let’s check to see if available. Wait what? Wtf do you mean it won’t fit?!?!?!?!

Did I do the calculation wrong?

Are the wheels that came with your car like the ones that are in the picture of the red vehicle you posted?

It is an awesome site. I have spent hours there playing around with wheel variables. Also has database on oem rims and tyres.

Yup! It’s 2-tone wheels. To certain degree I don’t mind it, but my sis-in-law likes it more than me. She gonna buy it off from me.

sis-in-law bought HL as well (came in yesterday) & doesn’t like the chrome wheels. She doesn’t want to spend too much buying aftermarket wheels, so I told her she can have my wheels.

Things to make it funny. My wife have blue WRX & I have red HL

Sis-in-law have red WRX & husband have blue HL

Who copy who? Them. My wife bought her WRX in ‘17. Sis-in-law bought her’s in ‘18. I’ve ordered mine in Oct, they ordered his this month. lol

Did you also check the rear fenders?

Assuming struts up front? What is suspension type in the back?
