Sorry for not updating in a long time!
The car has about 3,000 km of hard driving (10 track days) without engine problems. It has very good power and runs in the top group in our local track, doing similiar laptimes to stock Porsche GT3 cars. Of course I've done many other upgrades to achieve this, maybe I'll do a track oriented build thread! Feel free to ask any questions.

Would you mind sharing some details of your engine? I'm especially interested in valve train mods to avoid rocker arm issues. Thanks.

As this relates to oil issues; can this cover (pictured) with the oil pressure piston be purchased separately from the whole front engine/timing cover?
Apparently, this oil pressure piston got stuck, which caused an oil pressure issue, which in turn led to a spun rod bearing and an engine failure... Any advice on how to avoid this happening again would be highly appreciated! |

ETM Shaman, thanks VERY much. This is excellent, and very high skill work. I am really grateful to see this kind of work. I used to be with another type of car and community, and this was the norm. I have not seen this kind of excellent work and dedication in a decade or so on normal public forums.
Again thank you!! and its also very cool to see where you are from. Most of this kind of think is usually from the US, western Europe or Japan. Very interesting to see someone of your skill from Lima

Shaman, this was a terrific thread, all these years later; thanks for writing it up.
I thought you might be interested to know that the 2022 BRZ oil pickup tube is using the 15049 part line now (15049AA170) instead of the 15050 part line used previously in seemingly all BRZs (15050AA160), and it's listed as "for sale" on parts.subaru (though who knows if that's real yet). While I can't find any pictures specifically of 15049AA170, looking at 15049AA150, it definitely looks more or less like a straight tube, compared to the 15050 line, and I see Subaru changed over the Forester line after 2018 (15050AA170) as well, with the only car left being the 2021 WRX (no listings yet for 2022). I thought maybe this might count as validation of your research in some fashion, so duly noted |

The Killer B Motorsport website lists that the oil pickup fitment is for a 2015+ BRZ/FRS. Does anyone know why? I'm in the middle of rebuilding my 2013, purchased this pickup but I'm not sure what the differences would be. I don't remember seeing any major differences around the oil pan when I was looking at buying a newer engine for the 2013 instead of attempting a rebuild. I did reach out to them via their form on the site so I'll report back if/when they respond.

Quality control issues bleeding over into web content. Could only afford the One Sigma model.
