Mazda CX-50

Now that is a beautiful interior. Such a shame that Mazda veered away from MazdaSpeed and reportedly killed the RX-Vision plans. But I have to say that they really do know how to design interiors that are very simple yet stylish.

I actually really dig this. Pending price, I’d totally buy it.

It is estimated it will cost near the price of the CX-5 which is $27K. So I would imagine around the $28K-32K price range, which isn't bad at all.

My wife got a 2019 Mazda 3 AWD for $24K and I honestly don't know how Mazda does it, the interior is very nice, all the driver assists you can think off, and a comfortable ride.

mazda interior competes with acura IMO at a far better price. Reliability is top notch too.

More details on this. It will be offered with the current 2.5 Inline-4 NA(187HP)/Turbo(250HP) engines currently being used. Mazda claims that compared to the CX-5, it is slightly longer and better suited for Off-Road conditions.

Mazda also plans to introduce their new In-line 6 engines on the upcoming CX-70 and CX-90.

Production starts in 2022 with a sales launch in the Spring.

Side note, even as Mazda has veered away from sports vehicles, there are only a handful of U.S owners that have successfully been able to install a Supercharger into their 2.5L Mazda 3s. The supercharger is supplied by a Chinese company and so far no issues have been reported. Tuners like OrangeVirus stepped away from tunning Mazdas due do the complications of the Skyactive ECUs, but it seems others are stepping in and finding ways to work thru them. https://www.mazda3revolution.com/thr...-quest.242822/

I completely agree, I never had any issues with my 2013 Mazda 3 which is when Mazda started introducing the SkyActive technology. The wife's car has been great so far after two years of ownership with only a few oil changes, which can go quite the distance between changes.

If sub 40k is possible for a loaded model with their skyactiv turbo 2.5, then I’m definitely interested. I only have owned 1 Mazda product and that was back in 2011 for only 3 months and I found it to be very lackluster in terms of quality and enjoyment. But a lot can change in 10 years. If Subaru didn’t discontinue their Forester XT, I’d probably be looking at one, but I don’t care for the looks of the Outback personally and the Ascent is too big for my needs.

It is definitely one of the better looking CUVs out there. If I was in the market for an economy CUV then I would buy one.

I could see myself in a CX-5 or CX-50 in the next few years while my 2008 CRV hangs in there.

The hybrid powertrain will be supplied by Toyota, as the CX-50 is built in Alabama where the Corolla Cross is built.

There were a lot of rumors saying this was going to be RWD with their new I6. Guess that turned out wrong.

On Mazda's website, I'm sure the new RX is just over the cliff. It's gotta be.

Reviews are coming in. C&D
  • Highs Zesty turbo engine, high-class cabin, pleasing to drive.
  • Lows Just-average warranty coverage, wireless smartphone charging only offered on top trim, less headroom than in a CX-5.
  • Verdict The CX-50 brings refinement and driving joy to the compact SUV class in the way that only a Mazda can.
Base $28,000

Turbo Edition MSRP $37,625

What exactly is the difference between the CX models of single digit and double digit?

Like CX-5 vs CX-50?
