So Max gets $50,000 fine for touching the wing (I would’ve rubbed my peepee on it for that much).

And Hamilton DQd from Qualifying. So he starts the sprint from 20th. Then 5 place grid penalty added on for the race.

Looks like the perfect time for Max to capitalize on points

Straight line speed of the Merc was just unreal.... passing cars in the DRS train like they were standing still, even the ones with the supposedly "same" engine. No other car could move anything like that, even when trying to pass a car that didn't have DRS. Either there's some 2019 Ferrari funny business going on, or some secret engine mode the customer teams don't get.

Respect to Lewis on the drive. From last to first. Super rad. And a fun battle with Max towards the end. Watching two drivers be aggressive and go all out for a championship is what F1 has been missing for a good while. It’s why I stopped watching. This year has been fun though.

On another note... somebody in Reddit supposedly spotted Lewis using DAS during the race https://streamja.com/zPZAM Lolololololol

Idk how much I believe that looking at the clip, but it would be pretty wild

Man... I wonder if Merc is just going to replace their engine every race from now on. I don't see any disadvantage to it if they aren't going to hit the cost cap. Hamilton is not significantly impeded by anyone other than Verstappen anyway.

The best aHa moment during this weekend for me came when Felipe was doing the interviews.
Was never a fan of his but sure nice seeing this little guy’s smiling face again.

HAM had an amazing race weekend coming back from his DQ. After seeing MAX try to pull dirty antics during the race
Ham deserved the win no matter if MERC had his car in some Super Party mode or not.
Max was at his old tricks again when he had to use the runoff as well, and weaving in
the strait to block your opponent does have limits.

The championship is still a toss up between these two, (still rooting for MAX…)

Vettel had joked after the sprint he was going to touch HAM’s front wing as it would be half the fine…

Why doesn't McLaren, Williams, or Aston do it either? If they can just rocket down the straights to the extent that the penalty is nullified after 10 laps?

Hint: Strange that Bottas never experienced a similar explosion in straight line speed with any of the new engines he's taken...

Nope. He actually was abducted by aliens during the race, car and all. They red flagged it and Verstappen actually won. However, they were so far ahead of everyone else that Hamilton only dropped to 4th by the time they waved the red flag. Been a crazy weekend.

Because all those teams probably pay twice as much to Mercedes as Mercedes pays itself for the engines?

I mean, Hamilton's new engine only has to last for 3 races. My guess is they are running something that wears it out faster but boosts power.
