Wind Noise

Did a quick search and didn't come up with anything meaningful. The amount of wind noise that seems to be coming from the area around the triangle window/side mirror at highway speeds is starting to really bug me. Has anyone had the problem and solved it? Seems to me that a car with a .29 CD should have little to no wind noise.

Well now, I haven't noticed any wind noise in my FRS ...... but, I don't hear high pitched sounds anymore .....

You might treat the rubber weather stripping with a shot of silicone spray to see if it would limber it up and snug up to the window glass a bit tighter .....

The seals around the triangle window aren't the greatest, I get a rattling sound right around it.

Since this is a frameless window design wind noise is almost a given. I have reduced it by tucking black weather stripping behind the rubber seals on the car to give then more thickness so that they make a closer contact to the glass.

I have wind noise as well, but I also get nice cold winter air coming from that area.

Turns out that I have the window seal problem. After I get in if I run my fingers on the inside of the strip and pull it down the noise nearly goes away. Looks like another thing to add to the list for the next time the car goes to the dealer.

I had the wind noise and also a bit of water seepage (particularly noticeable after washing the car - never noticed it in normal rainy conditions). I had my dealer take a look at it when I went in for the 7.5k service. They had to order another seal, but that follow-up visit was under 20 minutes for the install.

I still have the "normal" wind noise from the frameless window design (my first car with those), but it seems much less excessive.

What type of weather stripping did you use? Rubber or Foam? Thickness? I would like to try this and have some thick foam weather stripping around but would guess it's too thick, unless the factory seal is able to keep it compressed.

Has anyone installed rain guards/ window visors and noticed a decrease in wind noise at highway speeds?

Assuming all relevant parts are healthy, the window adjustment is critical. There's precious little slop factor with these things and they're a bitch to get just right.

Been the solution for me as well.
As fun as the car is, it kinda beats you up on long drives.
Quite a bit of wind/road noise when cruising at 80mph.
Turn the music up louder to drown it out.
3 hours later, stop for gas, and it feels like your head is spinning when all the noises goes from 100 --> 0 in a hurry.

Can't wait to install my catless UEL header!

I'll save the non-resonated front pipe install for when I'm having my quarter-life "I went to college but can't find a job" crisis and need to feel pain to know I can still feel anything at all

Ugh...My driver's window is really tight in the middle and I'm dreading popping off the door panel to tinker with it

Probably preaching to the choir but I'll mention the importance of marking reference points and keeping track of each change.
