Wouldn't it be better for us if the second was lame, so we could all have the good one?

I don’t think that would be a good thing at all. I want the 2nd gen to be better in every way. And there is something very cool about having the original version. But a 2nd gen would need to be better to attract new buyers, and get some current 86/BRZ owners to trade up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

2nd Generation 86 - WISH LIST
I would just like to see them come up with a much stronger bottom end, capable of taking FI without limiters. I have an HKS S/C and have to keep it at about 40% of its capabilities via the restrictor, rather than letting it give me 450+ bhp, which I was reliably informed would take a £10,000 short block replacement. A lightened flywheel snd adjusted final drive ratio would be good too. There’s no need to have a car that can do 150+ mph on todays roads, but a sub-6 second 0-60 time would be really good, perhaps even very low 5s.
I’ve also got Tein Flex A Coilovers, with the full EDFC Active Pro system to fit, my Autumn project, along with upgrading the brake pads, fitting braided lines, master cylinder brace, more engine/bodywork bracing, and perhaps a front splitter. When it comes to these, more specialised, things, I reckon that aftermarket companies will do a better job in the long run at supplying bolt on extras, staying current with new technology, and are more responsive to market demand and technological advances, especially those that filter down from pro racing. So to keep the retail costs of the car down it should remain the same with stock suspension etc. As for the rest of the car, it doesn’t need any luxuries, apart from perhaps having memory electrically adjustable seats A double clutch auto option would be good, for those of us that are forced into an auto gearbox by those that just be obeyed, alongside a proper launch control feature that allows it to rev into its max torque range while the brake is being applied. Oh, and last, but certainly not least, a Targa top would be just wonderful. Apart from those little adjustments above, don’t touch anything! Electric seats add weight. I prefer my manual seats, faster to adjust.
