no flange for donut gasket on J2 front pipe

recently got a J2 front pipe that's 2.75" and noticed that the flanges on both ends are flat. No extension for the donut gasket to fit on like I've seen on a lot of other front pipes. It just came with normal flat gaskets. Will this work ok without the donut? do I skip the spring bolts normally used and use regular nut & bolt?

This will be mated up to an Invidia Q300.

I had an exhaust shop weld a flat flange onto my stock midpipe as a temp fix. was about $90.
