Crickets after TRD Intake?

I installed a TRD intake on my BRZ yesterday. I've put maybe 20 miles on the car since then and just now I'm noticing crickets. I haven't filled up or changed fuels since then (Shell V-power). The only change is the new intake. Perhaps it'll go away once the ECU is done "learning" the new intake?

This isn't the first time I've had the issue. A few months ago (no engine mods) I took it in for this noise and they replaced the fuel pump.

So, why is this happening again? Is this related to the new intake? I don't think Subaru will make a fuss over a Toyota intake, but I'm considering putting the stock intake back on before taking it in... again.

The crickets are due to ethanol in your fuel. The best way to stop the crickets is to fuel up at a station that sells 0% ethanol gasoline.

E rating as said. Intake has nothing to do with crickets.

hmm... Just seems odd it would happen right after the new intake.
I guess I'll wait and see what happens.

I've had crickets for over 20,000 miles. I didn't hear it before because of my headers and full exhaust. But now that I put the stock catback on, I can hear them again. hehe. Maybe it's always been there, you just didn't notice it before. Did you just remove your in cabin noise generator when you installed your TRD intake? If so, maybe the "quieter" cabin lets you hear the crickets... again...

Not a chance. It's a new sound. It's not subtle either.
