But then, I don't think the current car (at least my 2019) sounds that bad. It's not the tearing shriek of a S2000 at redline, but it certainly doesn't deserve the criticism many people seem to heap on it. When I'm just driving, playing around with the windows down, it sounds fine to me (maybe not 'great', but just fine and certainly enjoyable to listen to).
i honestly dont know if I like the FA24 sound. Its not quite i4, but its not growly boxer either. Plus the high pitched sound kind of sounds like fake engine noise from a video game (which never sounds good most of the time....i dont think any racing game has ever had a good reproduction of an existing engine sound)

I grew to love the FA20's growliness after hating it before actually getting the car and hearing it more often.
So maybe if i hear it more i might like it...

I'm sure some aftermarket company will quickly develop an UEL header for people who want FA24 to sound more like a boxer.
Heck, it's even possible that FA20 headers will fit.

FA20 sounds a lot better. This sort of sucks.

super generic. the FA20 made people stop to see what that was. Sounded really nice after driving it hard then revving it in a city atmosphere.

New BRZ sorta lacks some uniqueness to it. Lost the 80's retro look, got more supra-ish looking, and exhaust is more synthetic sounding. hm. I think this will be an in-person car coolness car. I think the videos and photos probably dont give a proper understanding.

also, in defense of possible BRZ sounding good, that video was poorly recorded. It had so much bass and it had absolutely no midrange recorded.

lil upset about some of the things on this car. I will never see one in person unless i buy one however, as i live in crap-hole long island NY and they never would bring one of these on a show room.

I think you're being a bit dramatic since when I started looking last year, both Toyota & Subaru dealers had them on the lot. If I like what I see IRL, I'm planning on getting a GR86 so maybe we can meet and you can check it out.

El jefe is never dramatic. I sincerely hope he gets to see the Subaru at a local dealer before he settles for a 400Z with non-sealed trunk, causing him to get decapitated when he gets rear-ended at a red light.

I think he is being dramatic. Here's a post from another thread:

"I actually will order one now."

that would be cool, yes.

in 2016 and 2017, there were none to show in NY state, only one place had them in "englewood nj", i drove to it to see one. Was impressed and got one on order the color i liked.
