XS-A has a minimum weight of 2750. So I'd gather around that. Only "weight reduction" I've done is rear seat delete and tomei titanium catback. Tacked the weight back on the front with the turbo kit. Stock these weigh 2794.

I could be totally wrong, but I'm guessing that car is under weight.

ive often thought about it but to go from stx to something competitive in xsa its going to be about 10k. and for 10k i could get a wrx and build it. its way too much money to go against 450+ whp supras and high boosts civics

Not going to lie. Boredom during the pandemic has me dreaming of mods, which would mean an end to STX. Budget isn't there though... Also seems silly throwing money at a car I haven't driven since March when I took it out before spring prep.

XS-A has me interested for sure but I'm very torn. It's an arms race like CAM and it really sucks when someone that's damn good in FS with their Mustang or Camaro invades CAM and kicks everyone's ass with their pretty much stock car. I would be afraid of the same sort of thing in XS as well. I realize that XS is there for those people that have done mods that keep them out of everything but SM but it still sucks to be outdriven when you've invested so much. Our region used to have a class called SMS that was the precursor to XS before the National Office came along and created it. We literally had some of our better drivers that would run some events in SMS just to prove a point.

Anyhoo.....what power adders are you thinking?

Invest in more seat time?

Yeah, more seat time is definitely the answer which is why I'm torn on it. Personally I've invested more in STX because I have a car that's more closely set up for it while I develop my skills. That coupled with the fact that XS isn't a Pro Solo class makes me question why I would want to go to great lengths.

I think the point they are making is that the amount of seat time they have committed is what makes them better drivers and not the cars themselves. While I'm not much of a fan of that particular point in that it's just making someone look silly just because you can, I also understand that there are those people that think they will be great because they have a powerful car.

I'm also sure that you are asking facetious questions.

i was writing up a list before i tore my knee last fall and here is what i had

new rad, oil cooler, new oil pickup, oil baffle, delebrock sc, 3" pully, act clutch, dw700 injectors, dw300c pump, os kiken lsd, lexus 3.9 diff, and obviously a tune.

im currently stx and have a flexfuel kit but id obviously want wider tires eventually too.

thats like 10k in mods so it pretty obvious why i didnt do it after fucking my knee up

First, sorry to hear about the knee. That sucks. Hopefully you're on the mend.

Do you think the Edlebrock would be better than something like a Rotrex? Having come from a high compression v8 platform that had a ton of torque to this car was refreshing for autox because of the ability to control the car because it had so much less torque.

Picked up this car w/ all the major goodies (P&L turbo, MCS singles, STI Brembos, etc). I've added flex fuel/tune, installing RCE Tarmac doubles, TWS 66-F 18x9.5s w/ 265/35 A052s. Lexan spoiler in the works, too. Also, lots of ancillary goodies, as well.

Since all of the big mods were already done, I'm okay throwing some money at it. I believe the car will ultimately be quite a weapon once it's fully dialed in.
