I debated on what intake for the longest time, but decided there is no need to spend 300+ on a intake system. Maybe it would get me a few more horsepower up top? but I'm not out racing people or at the track. It's my daily driver so a basic upgrade was my logical for me.
Sounds like a very well thought-out and informed decision to me!

love my Perrin silicone tube and Perrin drop in filter. And i'm not going to say how much I got hooked up for both but i'll tell you it was 140-170 bucks for both. Thats not bad for a full intake system. Look for sales. +1 for Perrin silicone tube n drop in.

The low side of that range is an awesome deal but even at 170 for both its not bad thats about what i sell them for, i sold my blue one and have another black one ordered for myself.

Just ordered this along with the Perrin intake and a Perrin crank pulley. I cannot wait to take a day to install all three parts along with my incoming Perrin catback.

Wondering if I should go get a baseline dyno done now that my car has 8500 miles on it and these will be my first power mods.

Installed my HKS Drop in along with the perrin tube yesterday. The car seems to run worse now. When I say worse, there aren't any problem but it doesn't seem as quick to accelerate. I reset the ECU and drove around a bit today but maybe it just needs more time for the ECU to re calibrate itself?

Give it 20-30 miles for the ECU to relearn. Should be fine after that.

Nice to meet you friday! Put mine on that afternoon also, i disconnected the negative battery cable during install to reset the ecu you might want to try that. Do you still have the stock air filter too?

How long do you need to leave the negative battery terminal disconnected for a true reset to happen? I left it disconnected for about 2 minutes.

It was nice to meet you too. Yeah I disconnected the positive before I started the install. Took about a hour for me. I couldn't find the right tools for the job(pliers). I have a in air filter coming in soon

WOW!
After reading nine pages of bickering , trolling, accusations, facts (and non-facts), statements by the manufacturer, pricing estimates and final pricing, I for all for your input. I almost fell asleep but I got through it all. My Perrin Inlet Tube has been ordered.

Perrin "Inlet Hose"

I just installed the Perrin "Inlet Hose". Everything went well. I received a black plastic license plete frame a two adhesive-backed 'PERRIN" labels and one 'WARNING label.

The instructions caution one to "Take note of clearance between serpentine belt and inlet hose on right side of hose. Adjust hose so there is at least .500" of clearance and tighten hose clamps to secure hose". Be sure this is done. I am not sure how much clearance there was with the stock hose.

Also, there was some discussion regarding the flexibility of the stock hose. I am not a mechanic or even a back yard mechanic and do not even change the engine oil now, but I suspect that the stock part being replaced allows for more flexibility allowing for easier checking or removing the air filter than the Perrin inlet hose. Either way, it is a lot harder than removing an air filter cover off of, for instance, a 1969 Camaro 350.
