I think its not putting something to extreme. There seems simply a difference between what you and I are expecting of a reliable and maintenance freindly build (speaking about petrol swaps or upgrades). Also I think this can be caused by the environment the cars are driven in. I had to improve and invest some bugs to get a FI build (on a already FI engine) which was able to drive me 15miles to work each morning, with 10miles at constant 170mph and same way back in the evening over years. In addition we should maybe remember that modifications on a Road car are more limited in my area and also are bound to 1.5 to 2 times the price you might have to pay. Maybe Im realy wrong, but I worked on many builds (not only my own) and I think I learned the difference between a 3k and 15k FI build the hard way. Not saying a 3k build doesnt work somehow, but somehow is nothing I would take as a base for any comparrison.
As well I learned that a drivetrain and engine designed for arround 200hp and tuned to 400hp will have weakpoints to care about in short time cycles, even if you put many effort and money to erase most of them. This is what I mean with high maintenance effort for such a build. A engine drivetrain coming with 400hp from factory will not requires this kind of maintenance. But as already said, it comes down to usage. I also dont like to compare budget builds (which are Proben to be possible) with a 24 or 26kWh battery to a 400hp petrol build. I feel this would be somehow extreme. Furthermore, in your last post you wrote down pretty much the essence of what Im talking about. So in the end it seems that we are not that far from each other. I cant say it often enough, Im not against E mobility, but as it has its benefits it also has its downsides, as any thing in the world. And there will be the day when that kind of swap is the best thing to do. Maybe this day isnt even far. But today I think there are other good options to choose from. Anyway there need to be people out there working on that, since those are the ones who develop the know how and expirience to achieve this one day.

Im no expert at all but it looks like it would be easier to put a BRZ shell on top of a model 3 drivetrain B is For Build style.

Just cut out some of the middle and solder it back together.

This is a cool product for a body on frame design. These won't be cheap of course. Maybe that will change in the future.

For years I have been of the opinion that we will see standardized, hot-swapped battery modules and mechanized service stations. If it doesn't start for passenger cars, it will for commercial vehicles.

As you said, for commercial applications, this would be good. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bus...t-2015-6%3famp

It will never be a thing for passenger cars. The industry kind of decided that. Beyond the cost, it just doesn't make any sense at all when solid state batteries are coming up on the horizon.

There was a post somewhere else that one of the companies did a study on it, and it turns out people are really possessive of their battery packs, so many people wouldn't give them up even if it was an option
