I admit it depends on each person's definition of what constitutes a separate car.

However the Camaro is available with the 1LE package for all 3 engine choices. You've got your base 1LE, SS 1LE, & ZL1 1LE. (personally I'd argue the base isn't a sports car, but would argue anything else is).
And the Corvette is available with 3 different engines and 2 body styles (regular and widebody). Stingray, Grand Sport, Z06 & ZR1.

Compared to Toyota, which is 1 car with only one available configuration. About to be 2 with the Supra (with possibly 2 engines). That's basically my point.

And I'll say it again I am not a domestic apologist.

Yeah - that's more of a tongue-in-cheek remark about how much bashing the Toyobaru gets for its power. I have no doubt that it is a sports car. As impressive as a Cobalt SS or Neon SRT4 is, I wouldn't call them sports cars (and this is not a slight against them). Sport compacts or even sport sedans, sure. Performance cars, definitely.
Sports cars? Nah.

As for my original remark about decades, I'm just amused by how the mid-engine Corvette has been shown in some form or another, probably longer than I've been alive - and yet I don't see the same criticism as I do with the (admittedly long) Supra reveal. Although @Dadhawk has a point that we haven't been inundated with camo pics of the Corvette like we have for the Supra*

Hardly anything in that list to apologize for, at least not in the recent generations (well, except maybe the Camaro low-end....).

200 hp is an embarrassment of power levels.
No car should have such paltry power. It needs at least double that and be able to reach 0-60 in 4.5 seconds.

Otherwise the car is SLOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWW

I don’t know if I agree that Chevy has a wide range of sports cars, but...
I wasn’t really supporting the conclusion, just the premise, that they have had recently more sports vehicles than just the Camaro and Corvette. Toyota has been out of the performance game for much longer, and that is probably where he was going with his initial statement.

Corolla. Let's include the sonic turbo then!

We are just in the wrong place. No doubt if you go scour the Corvette forums back a few years you will hear all the same things said about it as you do the Supra here and there are many many renders and camo shots to be viewed. Two different crowds and although the Corvette is a minor side interest here there are probably piles of angry posts about how long it has taken elsewhere in the internet. In fact I would be very surprised if the Corvette fanbase as a whole has ever had any conversations about the Supra. We are a bit more diverse here than many niche car forums.

Found ONE and it died in 2014. Didn't dig far but certainly could not find ones with every update.
What I can say is the 'Vette crowd as a whole are not fans
