I installed JRSC on my AT with CARB. After more than 10k miles, I have no regrets no complaints. The performance difference is beyond description. If I had to decide again with all other options exist today, it would be JRSC again.

Lol, you have already increased your 270 whp goal even before your decision. AT tranny can probably handle 300 whp but you will be starting to risk the whole engine after that point.

300whp was just a figurative number, i'd be more than happy with a reliable system with 250whp lol

JR, Edelbrock, AVO, ... All those kits offer about 250-260 whp power as their base configuration, not a figurative number such as 300, while they could easily have a nice and round 300 just by changing the pulley or replacing the TC. We have so many engine fails in this forum because "just a bit more" is many times "oops too much".

"With the right supporting mods" said so many times here. FA20 is not an engine that takes those supporting mods so easily. Read the forum about the trouble people had while replacing the rods themselves. That is the minimum requirement to begin with supporting mods.

I'm running 323 at the wheels, have been for about 30,000 miles. My automatic is doing just fine. BUT, a tranny cooler is a must. I have read several places that the automatic tranny will actually take more power than the manual.

I wouldn’t consider replacing the rods as a “supporting mod” by supporting mods I mean oil/trans cooler, catch can, proper fueling and/or e85 if accesible

Things that can be done relatively easy without removing engine

I went with a SC for 2 main reasons...
The inter cooled Sprintex SPS kit.

I like the simpler set up (vs a turbo), and secondly I like the throttle response. Immediate, no turbo lag and once installed and tuned not too much to watch or monitor.

No idea what HP I’m at, but it made a nice difference for me as a DD

any specific reason why you would pick JRSC again over anything else... say edelbrock? Planning SC myself in the future, like to gather opinions

I didn't choose Edelbrock or others mainly because I wanted a simpler, lighter, less-intrusive kit. JRSC had the best track and reliability record at the time. I am not saying that the other options are not good, just stating my positive experience with my decision below.

- Design and installation is very simple and straightforward with least possible modifications in the engine bay, no drills or cuts, easy to revert
- Power gain is at the top level compared to all other options at their standard level. There are still upgrade options which I am not considering ... yet.
- Factory CARB tune is excellent, smooth idle, smooth rev, fuel efficient, very smooth and linear power band showing that Jackson Racing really knows and pays attention to what they are doing
- Keeps the design characteristics of the car (hi-rpm power), magnifies everything I appreciate, and improves weaknesses (power mainly). Car feels like it is originally designed with FI.
- and most importantly *reliable*, never refused to start or stalled in a temperature range from -10F to 90F in a year with more than 10K miles

I've been pretty set on the edelbrock kit but I don't want to lose the high rpm power thing, which is what's really starting to push me towards the JRSC. Thanks, you may have pushed me over the edge to the JRSC camp

Well, low-rpm torque is something very desirable for many other members. At high rpm, I think Edelbrock should be as powerful (maybe a little less) as JRSC. In my opinion, power band feels more like a traditional sports/track car for JRSC and muscle/drag car for Edelbrock. You can choose accordingly.

Which jrsc do u have? 30 or 38? The positives you listed for jrsc are the exact attributes I’m looking for if I choose to go FI, thanks.
