Manual distributor advance adjustment. Tighten bolt hard or finger tight? Stuck brake drums. Ball peen or sledge? Sanding points and rotor. Sand paper or file? 4 leaf spring vs 4 leaf. Soft ride or traction? OK to go all the way up to 15 inch rims? Back bumper 28 or 32 inches off the ground? Can I run unleaded gas with no issues?

* fine, flat blade ...... it was a small screw * finger tight till when you get it right to where it starts to ping, then back off a tad .... and tighten down. * brake drums ..... make sure you backed off the adjuster by turning the little wheel the correct way, tap with ball peen hammer while turning. * always file points (so they will make a flat contact), a match book may be used in a pinch; sandpaper OK on rotor and contacts in the distributor head * if you had the power, traction masters would keep the leaf springs from winding up * I recall going down to 15" rims (from 16" rims), so we could put on cooler hub caps. * rear bumper height would depend on whether you were lowered using lowering blocks ..... or you were into a "California" rake * leaded gas, of course ...... unless you want to put it in your stove, then use "white" gas That was fun! humfrz |

Meh Ill play. I like owning a Scion, it means that a potentially boring conversation is avoided (explaining things to non car people or uppity assholes) or a very good one is about to take place, those in the know will subtley ask which Scion. Everything else has been said, this car wasn't designed to be an appliance or marketed as a status symbol, can't make a fish climb a tree or whatever.
Surprised nobody mentioned Lexus badges, sounds like OPs colleagues wouldn't know the difference, and the car looks the part from ten feet. It also sounds like OP is bored and wants something different anyway, enjoy whatever you get. Autocross bro, make your own twisties! |

Driving a Scion never bothered me and I've been fortunate to have owned some nice cars.
