I'd buy 1000 pairs of new socks, because once you wash them, they're never the same.

Only 3 years worth? Would you restock after that?

If we take winning a large amount of money and the lifestyle changes that would bring out of the equation it would really change my answer.

Should somebody walk up to me today and say "I will buy you any car you want right now" I would have to decide between two that are actually for sale and available.

Neither is exceptionally expensive but more than I would pay out of pocket for a weekend toy.

Winning the lottery would expedite the repairs on my stepfather's old 1970 Ford Torino GT (the poor old rusted mess that it is) and probably net me my dream of owning a '93 RX-7, but my 86 would stay in my arsenal for sure. I don't think I'd trade it for anything, and you can bet that I'd probably crank out as much power as possible out of my girl.

...and then use whatever I have left to help my close family members out a bit with other things that are more important.

I like it. Might as well go full "Jack Reacher" and just buy all new clothes every two or three days.

If I'm stingy with them, and I know I would be, I'd wear them like jeans (for several days). Then save 'em up for either garage rags, or set fire to them... Actually, the thought of needing storage for 1000 pairs is extremely disheartening as I struggle with even just a 12-pack... and those friggin' plastic tags that hold 'em together... I'm having instant regret and an unusual anxiety over something that will probably never happen lol

Absolutely I'd keep my FR-S.

We'd pay-off our house and then buy every single other house on the street as they came up for sale, just as a **** you to all our loud self-righteous neighbors. All the men spend at least 3hrs a day running leaf-blowers in their front yard and the wives are all self-described "domestic engineers". They all paint their faces and cars with football colors for six months out of every year and their children run unsupervised, screaming through everyone elses's properties. It's like Lord of the Flies.

Or just buy 100 acres in Montana and never worry about neighbors again.

You just described my neighborhood. Everyone mows their lawns like the domino effect. I have better things to do with my time. One woman even mows her lawn in the winter (like the off chance the snow melts). It's frozen grass, it ain't going anywhere... maybe she's just huffing the exhaust fumes...

Most communities share lawn mowing days/times. nobody wants to be last in the lawn mowing race and so as soon as one guy is out there, the others who aren't already busy come out.
Some HOA governed communities require you to mow your lawn on a schedule and time with your neighbors! Yuck.

HOAs negate the point of owning property, IMHO..
