spark plugssss quick question
after a long track day today, I figured out that my OEM sparkplugs were ready to be replaced.
My question is, I was willing to replace them with HKS m45hl spark plugs! so would I need to tune my car or it's fine and will work perfectly? |

Why not just stick with OEM? Even twins with 400hp+ uses OEM.

Stick with OEM until your engine builder and/or tuner tells you to run something different. Just because you're adding a turbo doesn't mean you need different plugs.

sparkplugs are a voodoo art. unless you're on a very custom tune, and inspecting plugs after every run, it's better to stick with stock.
when i was a teenager, i knew better on how to maintain my chrysler lebaron than my grandfather, who was a chrysler service manager for 40 years, the last 10 years of which were when the lebaron existed. so despite everything he said, i installed splitfires for MORE POWAH. the car barely ran, tried everything for 2 days trying to get it to stay idling. changed for the oem-spec champion plugs and it ran fine ever after. don't deviate on plugs unless you know what you're doing, especially on these cars because the plugs are so hard to get to!

This is no joke. I spent $86 (ha!) on new OEM plugs to replace my current ones after 60k miles. I've done all the other work to my car myself, so I wasn't about to change my ways with the spark plugs. I knew what I was getting into, especially knowing I wasn't in a position to lift the engine out of the car far enough, but I didn't know the extent. Took me ~11 hours overall. Now I was in no rush by any means, but the first plug took me nine hours, and the other three plugs took the remaining two hours. The combination of socket extensions that had to be used in a very specific order to get the plugs on and off because of the lack of room, holy carp.
