Well, after some haggling with State Farm, I finally managed to get a rental car. Apparently the Enterprise Rental Car equivalent to the red FRS is a burgundy Charger.

Unfortunately its neither a Hellcat nor even an RS. Still its comfortable enough and gets better gas mileage than my Suburban so I'll survive driving it.

From my days working in Enterprise, I will warn you about the calls you'll get for claim extensions. Usually the RALPH system Enterprise uses is pretty good to get in contact with the adjuster, but when the insurance company stops sending contract extensions to keep paying for the car, that's when Enterprise will start calling you.

So whenever you get in contact with your adjuster, remind him/her to send an extension to Enterprise so they don't constantly call you.

Edit, another note. If you see that your repairs might take a little longer than 30 days, return the vehicle and grab it at another date. Most policies cover up to $1200-1500 of rental reimbursement which comes to about 30 calendar days, which is important to remember since day 1 counts as the day to you pick it up. It might of changed because delays with parts and what not.

Thanks, right now the rental car goes through the 20th and my appraisal is scheduled for the 10th. I likely won't extend it, even if the car is repairable and is still in the shop.

If Dadhawk's car is a write off that would be a great replacement!

Now there's a thought, but how do they assign a cost to a car with a scrapped title like that for the race to make sure I'm under the limit?

my understanding is that it's largely assumed. by the time any of the racers get all the required gear into the car, it's essentially always a $10-15k car.

the main point as i've understood it is that one should never bring a car that they're not willing to sell for $500.

Installing a 4 or 6 point roll cage could be $600 to $1000.00 ++

What else is mandatory?

there's a rule book. i'm just a rando on the internet that thought it was once a good idea, but once i looked into it, realized that i have neither the time, space, or automotive connections most seem to have to make a lemons car my reality.

Safety items like that are considered a "gimmie" (cage, seat(s), steering wheel, fuel cell). Full rules are on their website: https://24hoursoflemons.com/prices-rules/

Having both the first and last special editions would be cool. How many people can say that?
