Advice needed- reverse lockout installation issue

I recently installed this reverse lockout and I realized I put the pin in the wrong location. In the photo provided, I have placed the pin in the upper opening and not the correct pinhole down low. But now the pin is stuck in the lockout because there is no exit hole to hit the pin out like you do on the stock one. So now the pin is stuck and I am fully locked out of reverse. Is my only option to drill a hole on the opposite side of the lockout? And when the pin does come out what will happen? Since I cannot put it back in reverse to remove the pin.

Drilling the pin sounds like your only option for removing the pin. Drilling the backside of the lockout before reinstalling it seems like a good idea too.

If you NEED reverse before having the opportunity to fix this mistake, you can remove the plate from the shift tower, BUT the car is incredibly difficult to drive without the lock plate. Finding 1 & 2 without wandering into the reverse gate takes precise movements.

Yeah. That. ^^

Used to be able to drive manuals without lockouts or shift gates.
Circumspection and mechanical sympathy come into play though.
