The forum registration question I received was "what company makes the FT 86?" The acceptable answer is Toyota, but the correct answer I would say is Subaru, reading "make" to mean "manufacture". If you read it to mean "design and engineer" then answering the question is even harder, since it was a joint project.

Technically, since Subaru never had a formal FT86 Concept, it has to be Toyota. And considering when the question was made, Subaru had really limited involvement (or so we thought).

The Subaru concept which was talked about in 2011 was the AS1.

First concept FT86 was designed by Toyota. Later on Subaru joined in & gave a feedback to Toyota on the design. After going through some joint-work, concept 2 was made.

So if you wanna go technical, Concept 1 was designed, engineered, & made by Toyota. Concept 2 was designed, engineered by Toyota & Subaru, but made by Toyota. & yes, I know this cuz I talked w a project team manager for concept 2... who work under Toyota

And may I add, he or anyone else can look up the FT-HS which imo has gotten me to this point.

Can we maybe have some de-cluttering of the Technical forums? Right now there seems to be a new thread (sometimes multiple new threads) for each new product release.

Basic 'New X Products' thread in each would be nice and clean.

(kinda late response) But FT means Future Toyota anyways, and it was sporting the Toyota badge

Don't see an issue with a new thread for every new product release, but if you see multiple threads for the same product, please report it and we can merge. Thanks.
