I actually read all of it but I have to ask......... Why would you EVER push the car to the limits you were at and rely on the OEM WB that I am pretty sure is universally known to only be accurate at best to around 11:1 AFR anyway. The scaling issue is certainly a pretty big mess up but I have to be honest, the fact you drove this car for 12k knowing there was something wrong and never took it upon yourself to pop in a WB is almost mind boggling, regardless of what a tuner was saying.

We did test with a tailpipe wideband and it was off but we didn't directly compare. I knew it was off to an extent but I never knew it was that far off until it was basically too late. Like i said... this is the condensed version. Now for the new build... Thread coming soon.

11:1 CR Forged Turbo build. Here I come 30MPG. (WAT?!) :P

That sucks. I suppose at least you're in good spirits. Time to move on to bigger and better things. I am going the built engine route myself.

Parts of your story are strikingly similar to mine, except I ditched fa20club when I got the wrong tune file sent to me (dangerous mistake anyone?)

I should get all of my dates/facts organized for a review as well

Well it happened a while back and as I explained in the intro I wanted to make sure things settled, make sure I wasn't upset, etc. So at this point im over the part of "Fuck, all that money... gone..." And just over the concept that nothing will come of that. But at least i got a hell of a story and since I spent the extra time trying to dig may have saved a few peoples cars that currently have dangerous tunes on them =/

This was in the original "extended" version of my story. Involving him sending me turbo maps etc on accident... Some of them were frightening. And the fact i flashed a large number of the local cars for the dyno day and most of them ran ~14AFR on the OEM wideband at WOT nearly up to redline. I have so many more WTF moments that happened but I figured no one would ever read the entire thing so i slimmed it up =/

Great read. I was there on dyno days and the day you showed up at the bash after your car blew holding chunks of your engine in your hand. It's good to have the full story of how things went down. Now I understand why you are so diligent with your own ecutek tunes you have been working on. You have a vested interest in your product as you actually have an fa20, so of course your going to make it run as good as possible and for the long haul.

Like I said you are free to use my garage for your rebuild.

I'm ADD and I did read all of it. Thus proof that "TL;DR" is just short for "I was too lazy or just didn't have the time."
