Ever drive a convertible? They are indeed a blast even with the bugs and sudden rain (gradual rain just meant put the top up). Wind noise was never an issue with the top down but could be brutal with it up. I am not sure how the physics of that worked really. Can't say as I ever experienced any poop in the many years I drove one.

Correct! Less turbulence is generated, and any that is generated with the top down is "silent" since its just air against air, not fabric.
On a related note, I have the opportunity to drive the Fiat 124 spider at the auto show over the next week in Cleveland. I'll let you guys know how it is. We'll see if they let me put the top down. |

You have to get that wind deflector window thing up in between the seats then the wind noise is a non-issue.
Lucky me I've never ate bugs or poop while driving or riding in a convertible. I've ate more bugs while riding my bicycle during the evening hours than anything. So I guess the Miata RF isn't a good choice then since it's a targa? But it's a Miata that I can finally fit inside comfortably. BTW I think the BRZ actually sits lower than the ND? |

My Saab was fine with the top down... then again it had the general shape of a bubble...
